Setting goal of near 250s and above are excellent T score.

Not most kids can achieve this range. Does not mean 250s can guarantee into big local uni years down the road - Upper sec syllabus is also totally different, investing $ & time in more & more tuition to maintain or let the child learn to tackle own road blocks ...
If the child feel stressed abt hitting this number, as parents, we should take a step back n reflect - they are mini teens (11/12yo) at such young age, getting afraid by a taboo number ... can they handle bigger exams stress in future - O & A level is so much higher level , local uni exams are not easy n even more stressful - Why must a child feel so stress at such tender age now , more to come in their late teens /20s?

Whatever is outcome, parent/s go to sch with your dc later, let them feel your tender love ,support and be pillar for them , wait for them patiently & lovingly 🙂

We have gone thru 2 rounds of PSLE. My first kid did average, scoring 230+, and he went to a neighbourhood school. But, this did not stop him from doing very well in his GCE O Levels and is now in JC.

My second kid did better than expected, scoring 250+, and is now in Sec 2.

We all go thru an emotional coaster ride and anxiety. We will feel disappointed when our kid don't do to our expectations, and this is natural.

Whatever the outcome, just be there to support your kids.

          All the best to everyone.

Accompanied DD last time, so will be going with DS this time too. After that go for a good meal.

agree...it's very important to be there...celebrate the effort and results no matter what they are. hubby took leave when collecting results...then we went for a meal...as parents, our presence means a lot to the child.

Yes, it is essential to be physically there to provide moral support.

Lower the expectation so that can manage better later. Just pray that my gal can get into Express can liao ....

This year, your daughter's school did not just well, but very, very well.

Even as the Teachers in school helped to sort out PSLE results early this morning, the Tr cheered aloud, because many girls did so well, bumper crop harvest this year 🙂

So many Top students went up the stage, as P was very happy for the girls, flashed out the names by individual P6 class, one by one, calling them to go up the stage. Congratulations to all of you 🙂
