I used to enjoy motion rides and 3D movies
Then there was once I took a Viking ride. After I felt very uncomfortable
From then onwards, such thrills are out for me
I prefer watching movies from the tv -
the only screen time i enjoy now is in front of the PC and ipad. movies have never appealed to me.
went to universal studios 3x and i donβt fancy the idea of going there again. i think iβm really very boring. -
Murder on the Orient Express is good. Two thumbs up. Even if you don't like the cast, the plot or cinematography, the scenery is great.
In my opinion, one of the best made movie in the recent years. We totally enjoyed it. Best, we watched it in a brand new movie hall. I read the story, so I wasn't so keen about who did it. It was interesting watching tofu boy guessing
Asked if he would like to read Agatha Christie's books, he said ok get one for him to try. AC is one of my fav authors. -

Haha... thanks. I read it post-JC. Was into an Agatha Christie phase for a period. Enjoyed guessing the whodunit...
I presume you must have read it during your schooldays...incredible memory!schweppes:
Star-studded cast. You will enjoy it. I had read the book years ago, so I know the plot. Had to :censored: coz dh tried guessing who the murderer is. Haha. Enjoy...
I guess the Murder on the Orient Express stood out coz so many twists and turns (just realised that the abbreviation is MOE. No wonder our school system is a killer :nosebleed:  . Er... lame joke, i know

I enjoy watching movies. Find it relaxing and a great time for bonding, either for WE couple time or family time.
But as going to the movies can be an expensive affair, so, got to be very selective in what we want to watch. -

Get him to read Norse Mythology by Neil Gaiman. It's a fun read for boys (and girls too, esp if they enjoy reading stories on myths and mythology). Each chapter is a short story in itself. The other book that Gaiman wrote is The Graveyard Book, about a young boy being raised by supernaturals. Not a horror book about ghosts and ghouls. Quite a heartwarming read as the boy was protected and raised by ghosts growing up. This might be more suitable for older readers (secondary school age?). My girls read The Graveyard Book when they were in sec school.

Thanks for the recommendation! I am running out of ideas on books for him. Most time, we find ourselves going shelf to shelf and looking at each book :slapshead: The good thing is knowing new authors (new to us).

The author is Fredrik Backman (a Swedish author and his books are translated into English).

As the title suggests, it's a novella... like a slightly longer short story which one can finish reading in one sitting. The theme is a tad sad coz the theme is about family, growing old and dying. It's about how the love of 3 generations (grandpa, father and boy). toufu boy sounds like a matured and sensitive boy and, if you read and discuss the theme with him, I find that book very meangingful.
Fredrik Backman is my current favourite author. Love his writing style. My fave book by him is \"A Man Called Ove\". Sad (made me cry in public) and funny at the same time.
His latest book is \"Beartown\"... where I practically had my nose in the book the whole time... during meals, taking the train / buses... and finished the book in 3 days. Such blissful ME time... at the expense of work and housework time
