Art and D&T drawing takes up much time.
History, Math, English normally 1 to 2 hours if there is compo and source based questions (history).
Science worksheets can easily take up 30 min. Homework can be a crazy amount on some days and they are due the next day.
I remember when son was in sec 3 and 4, he slept close to midnight. No time for anything. Just getting homework done. -

Don't know about sec 1 as my daughter only joined in sec 2. It was certainly more than her school overseas, but she still managed to sleep by 10pm most nights and have enough time in the weekends for other activities. I think a lot depends on how fast and efficient the student is, not just at the work, but also things like eating, showering etc. And how much time they spend on their phone!

If the next day is a school day, she will sleep by 10 am. She told me that she try to do some of the homework during the free periods. I noticed that she still have time for chatting with friends and watching u tube. So far, things seem to be manageable.
