How far do u stay from the school? Do note that under phase 2B, based on past years trends, u would need to ballot if u stay out of 2km.[Moderator's note: Topics merged.]

Hi Luanee
I am currently staying in Sembawang. In the mist of selling off my current HDB now.
I have rented a unit at Maplewoods Condo which is within 1km to MGS. Will be moving in on April 09. Will it help??

Hi, how does this work? If the girls who didn't manage to get into Nanyang Pri in Phase 2C ballot, how would there be \"at least RGPS to fall back on\"? Considering the fact that once you are balloted out of 2C, you go into 2C Supplementary, and since RGPS has filled all vacancies by 2C, they won't be available for application in 2C Sup. Am I understanding this correctly?
Your understanding is right, there wont be any available places for RGPS in 2C supp if u failed balloting in NYPS under phase 2C. What u can do is to gauge whether ur chances higher in NYPS or RGPS under 2C and register in either one of them.[/quote]Hi I just want to let everybody have an understanding based on my very own experience, if you have an alma mater it is very advisable to go for it.
My hubby has been staying at Cornxxxxx Rd for the past 30++ years and have we have been long suffering because of the traffic conditions every school day and worst during special ocassions. We have parents who will park in front of our gate and have problems reversing out of our home day in and day out. And we thought that one day we will benefit from this...
Unfortunately for us we are the 1 out of the 6 parents who was not sucessful in phrase 2C. And as kiasu as we maybe we were first on the ballot list. Too bad so sad.
So when you are in a ballot, even the chances is very high, there is xx possibility that YOU could be that unlucky one. So do go for a guaranteed plc if there is a choice to avoid disappointment!! -

Hi
My boy is studying there.Usually balloting within 1 km or 2 km. A SAP school, co-ed. Primary 1 and 2 are in afternoon session. PM me if u need other info. -
Hi Tweet,
thanks - have pm you.
Perhaps, just to add. Iโm an old gal of PHPPS. I live within 1km to Yew Tee Pr, which has been doing well. Iโm wondering if itโs worth travelling to PHPPS (probably around 30 - 45mins on the school bus) vs a daily walk of 5 - 10 mins to Yew Tee Prโฆ? People say Iโm mad to skip PHPPS since my child can enter the school on my alumni basis.
Would love to hear views from fellow KSPsโฆ

Ya. Yew Tee is one of the good ones in your area. Considering their brief history, their performance is consider pretty good. Considering that Pei Hwa has no affiliation to any secondary school and considering that I am those parent who doesn't have the resource/finance/energy to move place, I will probably choose Yew Tee if I am in your shoes.
With CCAs and possibly extra lessons in the upper pri, i'll really helps if the school is nearby.

Gigue, just FYI, Yew Tee Pri conducted balloting last year, under phase 2C for those staying within 1km. So the risk is there, should u give up an assured place in PHPPS. Then again, the stats may change each year. There was no balloting the year before.Perhaps, just to add. I'm an old gal of PHPPS. I live within 1km to Yew Tee Pr, which has been doing well.
