Need advice:
Out of these 3 schools, which school is better in terms of discipline, academic and CCA?
Bukit View PS
Keming PS
Lianhua PS
Thanks! -

I think academically, you can check PSLE ranking? As for CCA, it depends on what your child is interested in. Do note that if your child is keen on a CCA that is the school's niche/strength, he/she may have to \"audition\" or go for \"try-outs\" to get accepted into the CCA. As for discipline, sorry, I can't answer that since I'm not sure about Bt. View and Keming.Need advice:

Any idea when do the 3 schools (Bukit View, Keming and Lianhua) group the children into classes according to academic results? P2, P3 or P4?
Thanks. -
sunshine05:
My DD1 is in LPS and originally, they were to be grouped after end of P1 year according to Maths and EL but the PAL programme was introduced so the \"streaming\" was scrapped/postponed so all the classes remained the same. I have not received any information from the school about any \"streaming\" before GEP testing so far.Any idea when do the 3 schools (Bukit View, Keming and Lianhua) group the children into classes according to academic results? Dear all mummies,
Good day.
i just viewed the academy result, i found bukit view very good compare to others, but how come the school not much people want to enrolled their kids?
is anybody kid come from bukit view, can you share your feels and idea?
Thanks in advance. -
My girl is in primary one in Bukit View this year. For some reason, people are choosing other schools instead of Bukit View. As a result, there are very few classes. The primary one and two class size is 30. When they reach P3, the class size remains small. This might be good. They have a good foundation Math teacher who ensures the students pass the very difficult Math PSLE. As for Keming, my understanding is that they have extreme scores - very high and also very low. Normally only the very high scores are applauded. We do not know about the lower end classes. For Bukit View, the average PSLE aggregate is about 218.2 and the national average is 207.5. Bukit View is a single session school so school ends latest by 2.30pm. I have no comment for Lianhua because I do not know anybody from there. The average PSLE score for Princess Elizabeth is 195 - it was on a banner outside the school but I may have seen wrongly. Hope this helps.

JMO. i would categorise schools in BB under the following:-
1) academic focused
2) character building
3) affiliation
4) niche CCAs
Keming falls under (1);
PEPS falls under (2)-i heard from someone that i knew; to me, they fall under (1) too if compared to LPS; i think PEPS has pretty wide/different CCA range too.
SAPS clearly falls under (3); i think SAPS has pretty wide/different CCA range too.
LPS has Robotics as Niche (4)
Hongkah Pri has Volleyball as Niche (4)
DPS, i reckon is Lion Dance? Niche (4)??
BVPS is Asthetics Niche (4)
so while BVPS have satisfactory academic results, parents could have opted for the other schools mainly due to distance reasons and CCA options. MHO. -

if u take some time to look at the trend.... its has steadily grown popular over the years. Its definitely a school with a positive tendency.Dear all mummies,

if you think its is very good after considering all the indicators, then ok lor. But Im curious, what are ur indicators in making ur judgement as above? -
hi
i’m researching on a suitable pri sch for my son.
i’ve visited Ke Ming & find the environment rather positive & encouraging. i also like that it’s bright & airy & the kids do seem very happy. the surrounding areas also seem better.
i live right next to Princess Eliz & have heard that it’s one of the better schs around this vicinity. but i’ve also seen my fair share of misbehaving kids & teachers who seem to be shouting, more than teaching.
I would like to hear from parents who have sent their kids to any of these 2 schs.
tks![/b] -
Lian Hua is one of my choices for DS when it comes time for his registration next year. Guess one of the reason being that it is one of the schools with better chances of getting a place since I don’t live within 2km of any of the schools here.
I won’t consider Bukit View as the school population is very small. I might be wrong but my impression of a school with a low population means that their resources will be limited and they will have lesser opportunities for out of curriculum activities.
Then again, I may not have much choice.
