Mgs olevel or cgs?.pls help

        Thanks

Hi! Do you mean Cedar girls? It's a good school, very academically focussed, but also pushes the gals in their CCA. Can be competitive especially in the top classes (but that could be the case for almost all schools), so will need to manage that...

Overall, my niece had a great learning experience there. šŸ˜„

Perhaps other forumners can advise on MGS (O level). šŸ˜„

Thanks for the info on cedar girls as we r considering cedar also.your niece stays nearby or takes transport.we stay in commonwealth.

As said by few others cgs is crescent girls
Usually, the cedar girls will take woodleigh station on the NEL line. The walk to the school is about 10 minutes. There's always company as many girls will be walking along that route in the morning.

When you select MGS, you need to key in the right school code. MGS has 2 different codes. One for O level track, the other for IB.

When you are placed in IB program, you are already in the IB track from year 1 of secondary school. There is no special exams at the end of year 4. Every year you need to achieve enough points to move on to the next year through projects, assessments, test etc. That's my understanding. MGS IP program has no option to A level track. It is IB all the way.

My Daughter has got 260 score.
Her first 3 choices are -

          Rgs
          Mgs
          Cedar

          I have question regarding Mgs.
Since Mgs offers IB track is it for all students ? Or there will be again selection process to enter ACSI for IB ?

Cedar Girls is our first choice but she was upset and disappointed telling us the hard work she put in to PSLE to go RGS and now she cannot go . We told her about the stress etc and she says she can manage

Yes she wanted RGS but relented on NYGH after sharing with her about the Chinese culture

Now we tell her we are still considering ..tough decision .

We want her to be happy for the next 6 years and not stress up

Better respect kid idea. Or she will complain you the rest of life.
Any misfortune she will say because of this

After much thoughts and discussion with hubby and dd , our first choice will be Cedar Girls IP . Thank you everyone for your kind advise

The schools are really quite different.. With +2, Nan Hua (SAP school, with an emphasis on higher mother tongue) will be a great choice, especially if considering the impact on \"O\" levels with the bonus two points from doing HCL.

                  Just curious.

For MGS, those who have been successfully accepted into MGS (IP) will do IB at ACS (I) in yr5 and yr6.

1). How about those who only qualify for MGS (O)? Can they choose to do IB at ACS (I) in year 5/6 or can they only proceed to other JCs to do A-levels?

2). Is there any possibility for an MGS (O) to switch track to go on the IB track after year 2.

How do schools allocate classes in Sec 1 for IP schools? If by t score, then those who entered via DSA? Under the individual domains or also via psle score?

                      1. O Level at sec 4 = Proceed to JC for their A Level (or poly). If they want to stay in the family, would have to go to ACJC.

                      2. MGS has a year 3 intake for the IB track: https://www.mgs.moe.edu.sg/secondary/admissions/mgs-integrated-programme-for-year-3-intake.
That's the last chance saloon for the IB track.

You can still go SJI to do HCL and get 2 bonus points for O Levels too
