My DD is P6 this year. I would like to know for those DD who has successfully DSA via Math domain, is it true you must at least have awards for Math Olympiad competition?

so for this year (2019)... I have gone for dsa to nanyang and I would like to share SOME of my experiences here. I dsa for Innovation and Science and got to the first round (that means I went to nanyang to do some dsa selection activity there which was not an interview) and after that received 1 reply from nanyang that said I could go for the second/ final round (which I THINK is an interview). I am really happy and excited and nervous at the same time as tomorrow (from the time this is posted) I would have to go for the dsa interview but this is not my first dsa interview, I have actually gone for SOTA dance interview in June 2019. If you would like to know more I think u can just reply to this thing and I might answer.

Wonder how parents feel about AEP? It seems that there is no difference for AEP between Weighted Assessment n EOY. Now is like doing 4 End of Year examination. Equally demanding.

And what is the role of AEP teacher? If teacher is always on mc or not in class, just give an assignment n students are expected to do on their own n figure out themselves, then need teacher for what?
Does AEP have a weekly schedule of what the students are expected to learn? I only see my child draw n draw, paint n paint, rushing projects over projects…what’s the difference between general art and AEP?

The main difference between General Art and AEP:
1. AEP is a 4-year programme whereas General Art is a 2-year programme
2. AEP has 3 papers for the exams (Paper 1, Paper 2 or Paper 3, Part 4) whereas General Art has 2 papers (Paper 1, Paper 2 or Paper 3)
3. You can use Higher Art lieu of a Humanities subject when applying to JC (won't be applicable to NYGH girls though) whereas General Art is one of those \"other\" subjects

Draw and draw, paint and paint, rushing projects over projects... that's art. If it's about technique, then it's purely practice, practice and more practice. As the students already know how to hold a brush, a pencil or roll the clay, there's nothing much left to 'teach'. Modern art is rarely about technique as it is mostly about the message, or an expression, or a communication. The art teacher's role is like a facilitator, a critic and a muse, to be there to help the students analyse and understand their work.
