Any view should I try Anderson or TG in amk? Both I am between 1-2km.
      Cheryl

You can try Anderson in phase 2C.

The take-up rate this year (born 2013 year of the snake) is similar to 2016 (born 2010 year of the tiger) where balloting is conducted for those applicants who are Singapore citizens living outside 2 km.

You can visit https://andersonpri.moe.edu.sg/parents/p1-registration for the breakdown.

Thanks for the advice! My risk appetite is very small and I will apply via online for HGS. Praying very hard that there is no balloting required for SC <2 km. :xedfingers:

You can try calling PLMGS on the third day of registration Thurs 1 Aug between 2:30pm-4:30pm to enquire on the breakdown of the registration. In view that the birth rate in 2013 is very much lower, PRs may stand a chance in popular schools if the Singapore citizens does not apply.

Hi Belly, I think I have zilch chance for plmgs based on <2 km for SC. Been combing through the stats and eliminated schools like HW even though I am within 1-2 km (kosong chance). My best chance will be HGS since they only held balloting for SC <2km in 2018 and 2016. The only plus point for plmgs is its Sec school affiliation.

              Mathematically:
              < is less than.
              > is more than.
I think you mean more than and not less than.

Are you nearer to Farrer park or Potong Pasir?
Either way, have you considered St. Margaret and CHIJ OLGC? Quite possible for >2km . Just need to monitor all of them daily.

Hi, am SC and will be registering under 2C for daughter. Looking at past stats and current vacancies, will I have a better chance in HGS or PLMGS (PLMGS has more vacancies compared to HGS but 2B will determine the ultimate choice)? I am >2km for the 2 schools. Backup for 2CS will be CPS.

                  Thank you.
HGS safe zone is if 2b has 11 applicants and below, chances of all in SC in 2c is higher.

Traditionally PLMGS has higher Take up in 2B ( in 50++), that will left with around 80-90 spots, and the risk profile of the 2C spots is around 1.2X of the vacancies, meaning likely more applicants will appear than vacancies.
Best case in 12 year history is balloting for >2km. Watching the numbers run down on the last day and last hour can be disheartening sometimes.

Know your risk profile and plan.

                    Hi Davis & Lexy,

I am nearer to Potong Pasir. I haven’t consider FP and SM as I shortlisted CPS as backup for 2CS given its low risk and proximity. I never considered HGS until my girl went for the school visit and like it so much (we also visited the school and felt it was a good fit) and that’s the reason we are feeling a little stressed crunching the stats and monitoring the vacancies for each phrase. I am minded to wait until last day for registration to see should I try for HGS or go CPS directly. Yes it’s disheartening to see the vacancies drop phrase by phrase but I would still try for HGS under 2C for more than 2 km.

Yes, best is both of you have visited and like it. You should go for it. Anyway \"every school is a good school\" lah. And with all the new changes, no exams, SBB, we should not be too stressed on the results, but rather the journey 🙂
