suppose a current, existing P2 student in St Nick face genuine learning disability, applied for Exemption in Chinese and MOE approved her exemption in P3.

St Nick being a SAP school, will school still allow this pupil to remain after gained exemption in Chinese, continue her study from (P3 all the way until PSLE), or pupil got to leave school, Transfer out to another Non-SAP school ?

      ( asking, for a friend)

          Thank you

That means this student, applied for exemption in P2, but only managed to gain MOE approval Chinese exemption in P3, is allowed to remain inside St Nick, continue study all the way until PSLE is over.

However, this pupil cannot use her \"Affliation\" status to gain back entry into St Nick (Secondary school) anymore later when she reach P6, because recalled Principal ever said before that

\"Mother Tongue exempted students, cannot come back into SNGS Secondary, because St Nick Secondary is a SAP school \"

This situation, is a bit different from CHIJ Toa Payoh (Secondary), because

students exempted from Chinese in CHIJ Toa Payoh (primary school), can still use their \"Affliation\" status, to go back to CHIJ Toa Payoh (Secondary), a Non-SAP Sec school. This is the key difference, between

          a (SAP vs Non-SAP ) Secondary school

Cannot use affiliation to go back, but can use PSLE to go back. I think your bold line is not entirely correct.

My above statement is entirely correct, because

Once exempted from Chinese (Mother tongue),

student (whether by PSLE Tscore or thru Affliation status) cannot study in SNGS Secondary. Reason being, ours is a SAP school.

The SAP school apply to ALL students inside the school, regardless of whether they enter by Affliation, or by Tscore

In a SAP school, during Sec (1 to 4), throughout these 4 years of Sec education, the barest minimum -
Compulsory for student to take Standard Chinese, even if pupil do not take Higher Chinese

Other than SNGS JIP students must take HCL, there isn’t a rule that students inside SAP school must take CL or HCL if they are exempted from it. Hence, it’s possible to qualify for SNGS OP even if you have been exempted from CL.

This is our school rule[/quote]It’s not compulsory for an exempt student to take back up the language in secondary school, SNGS or otherwise. SNGS doesn’t have the authority to enforce or insist*

The only exception being for JIP where HCL is offered as a standard. SNGS FAQ made that clear (and no mention of compulsory Chinese because that would not be enforceable).
