I just heard from a friend and double check it at MOE website… apparently, there is no more triple science combination in ‘A’ Level, because of the Uni admission requirements…

Grades for the following subjects will be considered for admission: 3 H2 and 1 H1 content-based subjects (at least one of which must be from a contrasting discipline), GP (or KI), PW. Students who score well may also have their MTL grades taken into consideration for admission.

Therefore, it seems like only NUSH could take all Maths and Sciences. For ‘A’ level, need to take at least one subject from Maths and Science, and at least one subject from Humanities.

may I ask about coping with HCL in NUS high? Since the school is not focused in chinese, are there students taking HCL and if they are able to cope for without tuition, esp when they have no time for tuition anyway?

I understand more than half of the Chinese cohort are taking HCL.
It is possible to switch to normal CL if one cannot cope after 1 or 2 years.
The students at NUSH are not so concerned about MT subject because they can choose not to include it in their diploma grade points.
Yet I think most of them are doing generally well in MT.
My DS had HCL tuition once a week.

Can I assume that the students are not required to take the O level Chinese or is that still required ?

Sorry, with reference to my previous post, I understand that A level Cl is a prerequisite for entry requirement to NUS, perhaps not for universities overseas, so can I assume that nush students are still able to take their o lvl CL at year 3, just like in IP schools, if they are taking HCL? Yes, if they take HCL, they take O level CL in year 3.
