Well, if you look at 2010 O level results (ie. 2011 S1 posting booklet), the banding for BPGHS is band 2 and NH is band 1.

To me, band 1 or band 2, bottom line is these two schools take in pupils with COP high 24*, hence, band1/2 ranking is expected and to me, is not a ‘selling point’ of the school’s value-add.

Correct me if I am wrong. When you said 2010 O level results , i assume you refer to those students who sat for O level in 2010, which mean the students entered the school in 2007.

Hence, shouldn't we be looking 2007 batch COPs and not now 2010 batch COPs?

You are absolutely right. That would be the more accurate analysis of the correlationship. However, I was responding to lego's point about BPHS being band 1 and NH being band 2 \"where O levels results are concerned\".

The way I look at these two schools, from 2009 to 2011, mean COP is 246-249, banding is either 1 or 2 - some years both are band 1, some years one is band 1 the other band 2. To me, that's acceptable fluctuation and not a differentiating factor between the two schools - that's how I see it.

What I want to know more is the inner workings as I outlined in my earlier questions - those will help me to make a better decision.

BPGH’s new principal is formerly from St Nic. Base on St Nic’s pass year ‘O’ level performance when she was heading the school, BPGH’s overall result should improve further.

My DD gets 247+2 (HMT chinese) in PSLE. She wishes to go Nan Hua High  but Bukit Panjang High is near to our home (CCK). Pls gives me advice on which school to choose.
              Thanks in advance.
My DD has exactly the same score as yours... this is year 2019, I wonder if this consideration between these 2 schools are still the same... we also stay in CCK but my dd has many friends dd would have any friends at NH...

              anybody can advise?

The key purpose of education as a child matures is to explore, learn, communicate, meeting new friends, lead, perform, engaging new challenges, adapt and grow. BP is one of the few top schools in the west. And do remember, when your child is required to choose the subjects in Year-3, take up science if they are well rounded in both sports and the subjects. Chemistry is compulsory if you’re heading for JC in science subjects. Bio is not required even if your child is poised to take up medicine in uni. Have A Beautiful Learning Journey.
