Hi parents, how does a student get allocated to the NYGH School Based Gifted Education class which is described here:
      https://www.nygh.edu.sg/sbge

Can anyone shed some light? Is it based on t-score?
This year, the gep sec 1 students were grouped into 2 classes. I think the school based gifted programme is for the gep students.

Should be around that number for Sec 1 2020 as well.

            Ah I see. Thank you.

I have another question on the bicultural studies program. I read about it in the \"Secondary School Education\" handbook distributed by MOE. I see that NYGH offers it. Do children enrol for this in Sec 1 or later? Or is there a selection test? How does it work?

Selection is based on sec 2 results and additional selection test (I believe interviews but I don't have the details of how selection is done).

BSP is MOE Scholarship 4 years programme. Thus, interested students can apply through school at Sec 2 but the selection tests and interviews are by MOE, not the school itself. Successful students have to commit the programme from Sec 3, Sec 4, JC1 & JC2. Once accept the offer, the students are not eligible or/cannot apply for other MOE Scholarship programme. I think around Sept the school will organised talks to explain about the BSP MOE scholarship & CLEP scholarshipship & strongly encouraged the students to apply. Note that there is 2 different Chinese programme for the MOE Scholarship. Then the teachers will give up the application form for the students who are keen on this programme during that time before EYE at Sec 2.

On the other hand, if students do not want to commit themselves to BSP Scholarship, the students can opt for BSP Tier 1 or 2 under the compulsory Sec 3/4 HCL culture programme. On top of this, students can opt for BSP research as SIA in Sec 3. But do take note that, this BSP short programme by NYGH is not to be confused with the BSP MOE scholarship 4 years’ programme. ^-^

                    Hi everyone,

Can I ask, for the Sec 1 registration day, are parents allowed/expected to attend?
