Currently my gal is watching the Leapfrog letterland factory dvd. She enjoys it and would bounce with the letter characters.

I’m singing the Phonics Zoo song Aa and Bb to her and she likes the pictures.

So far she can say these sounds when shown the letters: a, b, h, m, u, w

I’m thinking of enrolling her at 18 months in a weekdays montessori playgroup or zoophonics on weekends.

Can someone recommend a good montessori playgroup that teaches phonics at 18 months? Prefer parent-accompanied as she’s very attached to me.

Can someone advise me if I’m doing the right things or am I doing too many different things? Cos I dun want to confuse her. Should I stop the leapfrog letter factory dvd and Phonics Zoo home singing?

You're doing fine, dearie..
Playgroup will accelerate
her speech and introduce
her to many other new
concepts on top of early
literacy.. and help with
the interaction with other
children thus enhancing
her speech abilities.

Yup, parent and child sessions
are best at this point, shuerei.
Call up the nearest centres to
your residence (you didn't
mention leh..) and find out
the details. Different centres
offer different programmes.
If you really looking for specific
must ask whether the centre
offers Playgroup Phonics Parent
and Child programme. Usually
Playgroup lessons will encompass
all areas including early Math
intro and Mandarin too, for some.

HI all, i was new to this forum. I was intro to this forum by another forum mummy, she told me here very informative. Yup, is true! In fact i was looking for phonics class for my 3yrs old ger. Looking at Zoophonics now.
