Any parents of P5 Pei Hwa students here?

DD just got P5 Math SA2 results back - horrible! It came as a shock, cuz she's been doing well until now. She mentioned only 1 kid got full marks, average score is 65-80. I asked if the score is moderated, but the teacher says no. DD now is really sad, no confidence. The teacher doesn't want to tell the average score, so DD just assumes she did really badly, and is very scared of PSLE next year.

        Anyone has Maths horror stories?
Just sharing for any P6 parents next year … my friend’s P4 DD studies at MGS. She knows an older P5 girl who is in Pei Hwa. According to my friend, this girl got 71 marks earlier this year even though she was attending a popular tuition centre. She switched to a home tuition small class and improved to 86 marks in P5 SA2. Her neighbour’s P6 DD in MGS scored A* for PSLE Maths this year (improved from her P5 SA2 82) with this home tutor. I did not ask her whether the tutor still has P6 vacancies in 2020 as her DD will only be P5 next year. Please pm me for the tutor’s contact if you are interested. As every kid is different, I suggest that you check with the tutor if your child can attend a trial class (I think you need to pay for it). You can ask your child how he/ she finds the lesson after the trial class before signing up.

I heard 1 girl got 100 in dd class. Which class your son in?

It always amazes me how there can be kids who breeze to 90+ in Maths. For same paper, my dd did old papers, assessment books, went for tuition, and only got high 70s. 😢

Not sure what else we can do!
It is not just about doing a lot of questions. Must analyse the mistakes to understand her weaknesses too.

May I know if the school is going through some changes? Heard from some distant contacts that their low primary kids have had multiple changes of teachers.

Hi Everyone, can i check in on your experience if staying near to phpps and contributing to the school as a PV will give my child a better chance of getting a place under phase 2B for P1 registration ?
