What complicates things even further is that the 3 days for those applying via the P1-IS portal & the 3 days for those applying using online form...start and end on different days. This is akin to the overlap between P1-IS and walk-ins for previous years.

In previous years, the daily update did not occur until the Day 1 of the walk-ins. So this year? No daily update until Day 1 of the online form?

And btw, those who have changed address recently, IC address won’t match the P1-IS auto-filled address, so u MUST use the online form.

It’s very complicated this year. Different ball game.

Yup but it will be a first for ACSJ (if it really happens). Hopefully not, for those who are praying.

There were few years where Phase 1 TUR above 80 places, 2B/2C still left 45 each or so.
Probably this year will be around 40 each. Don’t think it will be 20/20

          St hilda's, less than 200m 😥
Horse year lot of kids... his K2 got 50 students, not counting other centres.

This one no need to wait and see for Day 2 lah.
Confirmed, guaranteed, chopped that applicants will exceed number of places available every year. Ballot for SC < 1km for Phase 2C.

          Yup. Definitely history repeats itself.

Your strategy will depend on what alternative school(s) you have in 2C.

And your risk appetite for the balloting odds. Eg. Have you decided if 1 in 2 odds, you won’t apply? If 1 in 5 will you apply? Any chance is still a chance worth taking if your 2CS backup is acceptable to you.[/quote]
If odds 1:5, will need to decide and opt for other schools. Does the unsuccesful 2B applicants move over to 2C balloting as well, then by distance?

            Different process of applying
Withdrawing and reapplying in a different environment
No more waiting at the gate with last 5 mins of drama unfolding right in front of you with dagger stare
            Probably no visual of breakdown
            Constant checking whatsapp group messages

Take a look at St Hilda’s balloting history at this chart:

              https://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/article/tampines/

For those 2B folks, balloting occurs for 1-2 km or >2km. So the ones who failed at the 2B ballot CANNOT join the 2C application (no point, given their distance >1km).

For your 2C odds, you’re looking at a 247% oversubscription rate. Given that the school is 200m away and so easy to walk to, I’d just give it a shot. No idea what’s your 2CS backup plan though. Should be still acceptable right.

Thanks, Zac’s mum! Never thought of unsuccessful 2B cannot go to 2C if >2km!

I got no backup plan. Only ‘choose wisely’ 1 shot at 2C: either St Hildas, Tampines or Poi Ching. I am totally clueless.
Someone setup Whatapps group, not a single word. Weird

Doubt people will do so. Some with 2 schs to choose will wait and they are the ones who will cause heartattack and heart ache

                    also,
if withdraw online want to re-apply to another school,
does it mean that the moment u finish withdrawing, the task is considered done (completed), instantaneous

                    Or

must wait for MOE to give you some kind of acknowledgement (or response), indicating that the withdrawal task is truly completed, can go to some other school to re-apply.
If behave this way, what is or how much is the turnaround response time expected, from the moment u finsihed withdraw, until the time MOE respond back, give u the acknowledgement, safe to do whatever u want next ?

All these, must find out in advance first, not get yourself caught in a fix and realized \"alamak, oh dear ! no more time left, 4.30 pm closing time coming soon\", panic on the very last day of Phase 2B / 2C. Bear in mind that

the phone line can be kept very busy, engaged all the time, on the last day of Phase 2 B/ 2C, because many other parents, besides you, are also dialling into the school, asking for figures breakdown detail update status, for SC / PR ( < 1 km, between 1 to 2 km, > 2km)

and also, a lot of people only action on the very last day. If allocated 2 or 3 days for Phase 2B/2C, people can assesss situation first on the first day, \"look see, look see\" first. eg. Who are those usually \"look see, look see\" ? usually, will be those entered by GRC, or the public on Phase 2C. On the last day, then \"action\" towards the last few remaining hours left

Woah, just checked the MOE site and realised ACSJ had 93 applicants for phase 1! highest on record!
If it carries on like this, seems like will only have the mandatory 20/20 in 2B and 2C 😞

20 2B and 20 2C is not unheard of for a few schools I know..

Very sad... money and time gone down into the drain

St Hilda's whatsapp group i believe is active. i set up that group but pass the admin baton to my friends registering in phase 2a
Ai Tong, Ngee Ann, Taonan, Kong Hwa, RSS groups are all active.
                        Tampines estate group is active
Not sure about Poi Ching or Tampines since i didn't set those up. Some would be quiet, depending on different dynamics of parents joining.
