Hi Hendon, thanks for the reply. I didnt know much on the other school. I only have a friend DD comment on this. I will check out more on SJI.
I prefer no O-Level, but ok with A-level or IB.
If need O-level, want to find the school can have affliated JC.

If affiliation to JC is important, I would pick VS over ACS O or CHS O for its affiliation to VJC,
      location notwithstanding.

Thanks. But VJC is really too far

      Thinking the choices as below
      1) RVHS 253
      2) Catholic high IP 252
      3) ACS I O level 252
      4) SJI IB 251
      5) Catholic high O level 249
      6) Fairfield 243
      Or Nan Hua high 246

Considering No O-level, distance from Jurong, affiliation with JC, reputation of school.

      Any advice?

Hello! I have an aggregate score of 240 , and want to go to Bukit Panjang Government High , which Cut-off point is 4 marks higher. Is there any chance that it will drop to 240? Also for Nanhua , is there any chance that I ( or my Friend with a score of 241 )can go in , for it has a cut off point of 246. And if possible, my Friend and I would also want to try out for Swiss Cottage , which has a cop of 242. What are the chances that we can end up in Nanhua Or Swiss Cottage together?

I dun want to give you false hope. BPGHS and Nanhua very unlikely, and Swiss Cottage quite low chance. You can put them in the first three choices but make sure 4th n 5th are achievable (Commonwealth, Fuhua, Clementi Town, Kranji) and choose a 22X school for 6th as safety net.

@marcolisa ... Just wondering what is the reason you are ok with O levels in an affiliated school. AFAIK there are no bonus points for affiliated secondary school for IB/ A levels admissions.

[/quote]Discount is 2 points off L1R5 for admission to affiliated JC.
                CHS to CJC
                ACS and FMS to ACJC

Hi fellow parents, our daughter did well for her PSLE, and we're in the fortunate position of having to choose between MGS, RGS and NYGH for her. Our initial thoughts are below, but any further advice and personal experiences on these 3 schools will be much appreciated please!

                        MGS
Pro: close to our home (we stay near Beauty World MRT)
Cons: we are personally not too convinced by IB vs the more traditional A-levels, but I admit this is also partly due to our lack of familiarity with IB, so will have to read more on it over the next couple of days

                        RGS
Pros: prestige/reputation/network associated with the Raffles family/alumni; by most accounts, top-quality facilities, educators, all-round education
Cons: distance from our home (estimated 45-60 mins by public transport); high-pressure environment (?)

                        NYGH
Pros: relatively close to our home; comparable to RGS on the quality of education
Cons: we are concerned (rightly or wrongly) that the environment at Nanyang might be a little too homogeneous; as compared to MGS/RGS where perhaps the culture/environment is a little more diverse (we could be stereotyping?)

                        Thanks in advance!
