Hi, we are shifting house near to ALPS and we are aware that the slots are currently full and no vacancies are available at Alexandra Primary. But would anyone know how long is the waiting list usually? My son is currently studying at GMSP and I’m confused whether to change him to a nearby school which is GESP which has vacancies or make him continue in the current school itself regardless of the distance as the current school is really good and he’s doing well there too until he gets a slot in ALPS. Any opinions would be much appreciated. Thanks in advance.

                Hi,

                How old is your son?

Primary schools have a class size of maximum 30 for P1 and P2 so unless there are parents who give up their confirmed places, it is unlikely there will be any vacancy until P3, where schools are allowed to have 30++ for each class. Most transfers occur during P3 & P4 in popular schools as a result of these increased vacancies.

You should wait-list your son while staying at GMSP.

Do think about the affiliation priority before making transfers if it is a concern.

                All the best!

                  Hi!

Thanks for the kind reply. My son is currently studying in P1. Yes, I was thinking about your idea. I’m just worried about the travel distance and hence the time it would take. But thanks for the idea. 🙂

Hi! Heard good reviews about Alex Pri Sch but haven’t personally heard straight from a fellow parent. Would anyone be able to share your experience? Was told that school is pretty well-rounded?

                      Hi all Mummies and Daddies,

My child will be entering P1 next year to ALPS. Any of your children got in as well? Wondering any WA grp that can be joined or formed?

No worry. Each class will form their WA group when school reopen. Used to be their traditional that each class will have a parent representative and the class WA group will be the platform to communicate important message from PSG and form teacher.
