Hello, I'm quite new to this platform but would really appreciate all the advice given. My daughter scored 251+3 for hmt and not so sure about the schools she wants to go. We are staying in the north.
1) Rvhs
2) St.nicks O level
3)Cedar girls O level
4)Nan hua high

Not really sure about the last couple choices but would really appreciate any help as I dont really know about sec schools in singapore.
Seems like CHIJ Toa Payoh and Anderson should be more convenient for you than Nan Hua?

Hi

My son scored 261, and we were struggling between RI (cos it’s nearer to our house) and ACS(I) IB (cos his form teacher commented my son is more suited to IB).

ACS(I) is really quite far from where we stay (we stay near Potong Pasir) but i think we have more or less settled on placing that as our first choice.

I don’t really know what to put for his 2nd - 6th option though. I read some comments which mentioned that the COP can fluctuate up to 8 points (!!) so i think we shouldn’t take getting into ACS (I) for granted. Right now, my thoughts are:

1) ACS (I) IB
2) ACS o level (cos can try to get into IB at year 3, if COP drastically changes this year)
3) SJI IB
4) - 6) ????

We prefer boys’ schools..thanks in advance for any advice given!
Not everybody is suited to do IB. If your teacher recommends him to do IB, i would say \"go for it\". :congrats:

Shd get into choices 1, 2 or 3. 4-6 can put anything for fun.

Choosing a suitable school is your son's choice, neither his form teacher's recommendation nor parents' preferences. With a T-Score of 261, he should be able to enroll any of the schools (as a boy). So ask your son which school he really likes. If he prefers ACSI and put it as 1st choice, the 2nd to 6th choice will not matter any more as ACSI COP won't go up to 261.

Hi

My DS got 270+2. If we opt to put HCI as 1st choice, does that mean he would be accepted for sure or its subjected to other factors?
Can I check does the school choice matters? For example, if I put xx sch as 5th choice but the other student put the same sch as 2nd choice but both these students got the same score, will the student who put the sch as 2nd choice get admitted first? Whereas the student who put as 5th choice will depends on whether there is still vacancy when it come to his turn.

It does not matter. The child with a higher T-Score (to multiple decimal places) will get his place first.

All the best!

Order of choices doesn't matter. If same T-Score, then Citizen first; if all Citizens, draw lots.

I heard there is no decimal place of the T-Score, T-Score is the round off integer without decimal place.
I think some minister (or maybe the PM himself) announced a minor change last year. The posting system definitely still uses decimal places of the T-score to post the student to his/her school, except in the case of the last available vacancy. When it's the last available vacancy, the computer will conduct a ballot for all those students with the same rounded integer cut-off T-score.

With such a high T-score, double confirmed plus double chopped, he will be posted to HCI if he puts it as his 1st choice.

Thanks for replying... we r still considering as we aren't sure if he can cope with the new challenges in an atas school. Psle is just a one time assessment, what matters is child's resilience n adaptability😔

:thankyou: i wonder if we should put other IP schools instead of ACS O levels too.. since he can technically skip the O levels. Maybe i am overthinking this...
