Can I check if your child is eligible for ESIS? Thanks.
hi my child got 260 and Distinction for HMT.
Is it possible for her to get into RGS? -
With a PSLE score of 251, is it safe to put Cedar Girls IP as first choice and Cedar O Level as second choice? Thank you in advance

Thanks for the reply. We have tried to involve our son in the decision-making process, and we attended a few open houses in P5 before the pandemic hit. He is fine with either RI and ACS(I) IB, recognising the pros and cons of each. Upon talking to him, I think the tipping factor for us is also his concern that he'll be placed in the last class at RI, given that he is just 2 points above the COP for RI. We are thinking of trying the public transport route from our house to ACS(I) and let him decide if he can live with this for 6 years...
Hi, there is no such thing as \"last class\" in RI. Other than the GEP students who are placed in GEP classes, all the other students are mixed. Those who entered via DSA are also evenly distributed into these regular classes.
Choosing a suitable school is your son's choice, neither his form teacher's recommendation nor parents' preferences. With a T-Score of 261, he should be able to enroll any of the schools (as a boy). So ask your son which school he really likes. If he prefers ACSI and put it as 1st choice, the 2nd to 6th choice will not matter any more as ACSI COP won't go up to 261.pengpeng\" post_id=\"2004404\" time=\"1606370198\" user_id=\"77520:
Hi
My son scored 261, and we were struggling between RI (cos it’s nearer to our house) and ACS(I) IB (cos his form teacher commented my son is more suited to IB).
ACS(I) is really quite far from where we stay (we stay near Potong Pasir) but i think we have more or less settled on placing that as our first choice.
I don’t really know what to put for his 2nd - 6th option though. I read some comments which mentioned that the COP can fluctuate up to 8 points (!!) so i think we shouldn’t take getting into ACS (I) for granted. Right now, my thoughts are:
1) ACS (I) IB
2) ACS o level (cos can try to get into IB at year 3, if COP drastically changes this year)
3) SJI IB
4) - 6) ????
We prefer boys’ schools..thanks in advance for any advice given! -

I think some minister (or maybe the PM himself) announced a minor change last year. The posting system definitely still uses decimal places of the T-score to post the student to his/her school, except in the case of the last available vacancy. When it's the last available vacancy, the computer will conduct a ballot for all those students with the same rounded integer cut-off T-score.
Before reaching a school's COP, there is no need to use decimal places as the vacancies are more than the applicants. When the point comes close to COP (the lowest point), the remaining vacancies might be less than the applicants who has the same T-Score applying for that school, say 259 last year for RI.
Order of choices doesn't matter. If same T-Score, then Citizen first; if all Citizens, draw lots.pengpeng\" post_id=\"2004386\" time=\"1606369191\" user_id=\"77520:

It does not matter. The child with a higher T-Score (to multiple decimal places) will get his place first.
All the best!
I heard there is no decimal place of the T-Score, T-Score is the round off integer without decimal place.
In this case, the system will pick up SG citizens first, the remaining it will choose Non-citizens by drawing lots. If the vacancies are less than the number of citizens, the system will draw lots among the citizens. And 259 becomes the COP.
Since all T-Scores are integers, the decimal places shouldn't be there, for clarify.
This is only my guess, correct me if wrong. -
Hi,
I am asking for my DD’s friend. The girl should be in 240-255 range but got only 229 in the end. May I have some advice on her choice of Sec schools please? We are staying at Bukit Batok. Thanks. -

:thankyou: i wonder if we should put other IP schools instead of ACS O levels too.. since he can technically skip the O levels. Maybe i am overthinking this...
My ds finished IB last yr. He had DSA CO/WL fr IB and IP A levels. He was initially inclined to A level. But I'm glad he enjoyed his 6 years IB very much.
Not everybody is suited to do IB. If your teacher recommends him to do IB, i would say \"go for it\". :congrats:zeemimi\" post_id=\"2004402\" time=\"1606370067\" user_id=\"15896:

Shd get into choices 1, 2 or 3. 4-6 can put anything for fun.
I've seen quite a few ACS o levels switched to IB at yr 3. Most of them had missed Yr 1 IB narrowly. Also they did consistently well in yr1 and y2. -
All the Y2019 P6 approximately close to 43,000 candidates Tscore have trailing decimal points, not just whole number only.
These are all stored inside MOE computer database.
However,
when you receive your Psle certificate, MOE only print out the whole-number Tscore figure only, without any trailing decimal points behind. -

This is only my guess, for sharing.
Sorry, but got to disagree. We know firsthand of a recent case. Local nationality and T-score exactly at the cut-off of stream A (Choice 1 in ranked order). She was placed into stream B instead (Choice 2 in ranked order). -

Easier to score, to enter university certain faculty ? -

My son was affected because he went for lunch together with his dad and his dad's old schoolmates from RI, and the bunch of old schoolmates were teasing one of them for just meeting the CoP years ago, landing in the \"last class\" and eventually appealing to the best class. I guess times have changed, so thanks for the updated info!
