How about considering Gan Eng Seng Sec Sch - 227 cut off point or Queensway Sec Sch - 222?
Hi everyone! My friend's boy got 228, can you share your advice on his choice of Sec schools, please? He is staying at Queenstown. Many thanks~ -

it is not first come first served, surely the school will pick someone with good sec 1 results, when they are looking to fill a vacancy in sec 2 of the following year.
thank you, will have to start enquiring early i guess.

Express to express, most of the time, it is based on your school exam results, there will be no internal school exam. It is like transferring pri sch.
Thanks for the info. In this case, would it be first come first serve (base on how early you register or higher rank in the waitlist?), or based on your sec 1 results at existing school?
Thanks again. -

Go for it! My eldest is in RI and we are staying in the Far East 😂 but my DS loves the school so much. He travels about 1 hr plus to and from school each way, but he does it willingly. Contrary to myths about elitism and selfishness, I find RI students to be very supportive and helpful. My DS friends will share notes, help one another and even go in groups to consult the Teachers when in doubt. The parents support group is excellent too! Parents share information readily too. There’s a big batch chat with more than 250 parents inside.
Hi all,
Would like to ask your opinions. My DS scores 270 and RI is his dream school. However, we are residing in Jurong and are concern with the travelling time. SAP schools are not possible as he doesn’t take Chinese. And there is a lack of good schools near us. Would you consider RI if you’re in our position? Thank you.
DS is very glad that he chose RI. Teachers are very dedicated and they treat the students as young adults. No regrets choosing this school for us.
Good luck to you! -

Thks. So choices 2-6 safe for our case? Seems like we have a lot more 250+ scorers this year. My DS’ class has at least 4 including him with same score.
Not a high chance, to be honest. But if u dun try, u never know. The 2nd to 6th options are there anyway if your \"dream\" 1st choice doesn't succeed.Timmy21\" post_id=\"2004389\" time=\"1606369328\" user_id=\"122721:
Hi I’m new here. My DS has a score of 254 with no HMT. We would like to put our school choices as follows :
Acsi(IB)
NJC
Acsi (O level)
SJI (IB)
Rvhs
Nan Hua
Can advise if we have a chance for first choice?
What if we put NJC as first choice and eliminate ACSI (IB) which we are 2 pts off, will we stand a better chance?
Putting njc as first choice versus second choice doesn't give u a better chance. Let's say your child is the 1500th ranked student. After posting the 1499th student to a school, the computer will look at ur child's 1st choice. If there's still vacancy, he goes there. If no vacancy, the computer looks at his second choice n makes the posting decision, so on and so forth. -

I second what mamamiya says about RI. The students, teachers and parents are truly supportive. If it is indeed your son’s dream school, he won’t mind the travelling.
But if you wish to consider other options that are closer to your home, you may like to check out ACSI’s IB program. All the best!
