        Dear Parents,

To understand how the 2020 PSLE cohort performed and therefore have a better perspective of how the COPs of different secondary schools are likely to move (ie. increase or decrease), can parents of this year's cohort kindly help to post the highest T-score (please EXCLUDE the HCL bonus points) in their child's respective primary school by clicking on the below link?

        https://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/t-scores/

Currently, the table only reflects the t-score information of < 20 schools which makes it difficult for any meaningful analysis. Hence, would like to appeal for more parents to step forward and share the highest t-score data in their child's primary school by clicking on the above link.

        Many thanks in advance!

        :thankyou:

        As reference
        Top 10%: 252 (2020); 250 (2019); 252 (2018)
        ESIS: 261 (2020); 261 (2019); 260 (2018)
        https://postimg.cc/Z0x1k3KQ

It is not really possible to analyse COPs movements afterall the demand and supply differs for each cohort

What we do know is 39,995 took PSLE
        Top 10% is ~ 4000 (>= 252).
        Top 3% is ~ 1200 (>= 261)
The 4000 includes kids who DSA successfully to their dream schools including NUSH, SST etc.
If you are targeting IP/IB schools, assuming each has intake about 300-400, you can do a rough estimate.

PSLE 2020 papers were relatively easier, the average is higher but the high scores are lower.
Easier papers mean many of the candidates will score around the same high marks, that is, the variance from the mean (average) is smaller.
So just make sure your choices has a safety net with COP 7-10 below your T-score.

Easier paper and higher raw score do not necessarily mean higher T-Score. The average T-Score of the whole cohort might not change much, the COP of individual school will mostly depend on demand and supply.
Yes, the 6th choice can have a safety net with COP 7-10 below your T-Score but the rest can have a smaller margin.

Thanks for this, emoh! Perhaps I should clarify. DS will be in p4 next year and we are likely to move mid-end year 😢 I’m just about to start searching for schools in the east for him but wanted to get a feel of how these schools are faring.. can’t seem to find their t scores on any sites

They want you to believe every school is a good school.

Just a reminder that you need to submit the school choices by 3pm today (Tuesday, 1 December 2020).

                    All the best!

Hi, I am deciding the sequence of choice

                      - catholic high O level - 1 point below cop

                      - nanhua - 2 points above cop

Travelling distance about the same, both are SAP.

                      Anyone can share ur view?

Take Catholic High (O-level) better, because
at end of Sec 2 year-end streaming, you still have a second chance to go IP, if u desire.

if your son does well at end of Sec 2 and son is keen in IP, Principal will invite your son to do IP starting Sec 3 IP to join Eunoia JC

This EJC has improved rapidly so fast !

Years ago, when EJC first started off and occupied Mount Sinai temporary premises, not many students want to join IP (CHS / SCGS / St Nick) back then, because many students said \"brand new JC, no track record ...\"

But today Y2020, look what happen ?

                      Eunoia JC admission intake -
Is the same for Science & Arts, as the other two : Victoria JC and National JC

                      In other words,
As far as L1R5 is concerned,

Eunoia Junior College is on par, with Victoria Junior College & National Junior College, for A-level admission, both (Science & Arts) stream

EJC has done exceedingly well, to come thus far !

                      Cut off point (L1R5) for

                      a)

Eunoia JC (Science ) = Victoria JC (Science) = National JC (Science), all at 7 points

                      b)

EJC (Arts) = VJC (Arts) = NJC (Arts), all at 8 points

In other words, 2 years later, at end of Sec 2 streaming, if u do well and decide to go straight up to A-level, bypass take O level National exam, u still have the last chance to do so.

Anyway, 7 points (Science stream), not easy to get, at O-level. So might as well grab the chance and go , if by then Principal give you the chance to go IP, at end of Sec 2

                      If you choose Nan Hua,
if u want this type of opportunity at end of Sec 2, also don't have

I have same thought as you. But DS still wants to put nanhua first...

MOE's school information service will have this information. You can search by school name or other criteria. They just don't rank schools now.
