if you say that the DSA-JC1 (Sports domain) Confirmed offer had been given, but kind of restrict (corner) your daughter to certain JC1 subject combination allowed (permitted), think is best that you speak to Hwa Chong VP (Academic) in charge, find out exactly what kind of JC1 subject combination is being offered to your daughter first, before she accept the DSA offer officially,

      because

if the subject combination allocated to her is not what she want, not in tune (line) with her future career ambition plans, if let's say going to restrict her future choices of university courses study, not advisable to accept the DSA

Pardon me for my ignorance, but why would your subject combination choices be limited by the fact that you are a DSA student, especially when you DSA via Sports Domain? I can understand if you DSA through academic domain but for sports? :scratchhead:

      Can someone please enlighten me?

My understanding is; DSA CO will kick in as long as L1R5 <20. Assuming DSA student has 20 points with B4 and A1/A2 for languages, I dunno how the student can choose any H2 subject at will because min requirement is B3 each? I dunno how this B3 per H2 subject requirement plays out for DSA students. I am curious too.

When you come to the end of Sec 4 O-level, if you were to check the DSA-JC1 entry routes, majority of the JCs do Not accept Academic domain. They accept Sports domain, Yes.

I used the word, \"majority\" of JCs, do not accept DSA, by Academic domain. I did not use the word, \"All JCs\" do not accept DSA, by Academic domain

Admission by \"Academic\" domain apply mostly to P6 students, when they entered Sec 1.

Becos if entering via JAE to JC, which stream (Science/Arts) you can enter has different COP isn’t it?

Eg Arts stream/combi is usually easier to enter. Can’t choose Science combis.[/quote]
Once you receive CO, you can enter the school as long as you achieve at most L1R5 of 20. It doesn't say anything about ineligibility to take certain subjects.

Eg. HCI states that a student needs to obtain at least a B3 if he/she wants to take H2 Physics. If the student scores B4, she cannot take H2 Physics. However, it is because she doesn't meet the B3 criteria that she cannot take H2 Physics, not because she DSA in by Sports domain. Although she cannot take H2 Physics, she can consider taking H1 Physics, if she wants.

For this case, this student will be strongly encouraged to take up Arts subjects rather than Science. Again, this is due to O level results, not because she is a DSA student. There's no minimum requirement for Geography / History / English Literature.

Yes correct, for Humanities subjects like History / Geog / Eng Literature, there is no minimum pre requiste required to study them, Econs : same thing. No pre requiste required to study in JC

Only H2 Science subjects, imposed this minimum "B3" pre requiste, particularly in those IP-JCs, where they are very particular. If score below minimum "B3" grade, still allow you to take Pure Science, but at H1 level

              Whereas, in contrast,
if you look at some of the Non-IP JCs,
some not fussy, never imposed this minimum "B3", to study H2 Pure Science (H2 Chem / Bio / Physics). They allow students to appeal, if really want (desire) to do H2 Physics, instead of H1 Physics

Oh I see. I thought all H2 need prerequisite with min B3 to qualify.

Anyone know if achieving HCI Diploma is good for application to local universities? If yes, is it difficult to attain the Diploma?
