Are you allowed to use hp in class?

What do you mean hp? As in the computer? I will assume you mean the hp computers.

It really depends on the school, level and stream. In my school, NT students will use the hp computers a lot in their Upper Sec years to prepare for CPA practical. The Express and NA students in my school rarely use the hp computers, if I remember, I only used it five times this year. For my school, during Music lessons we will use a Surface Pro instead. Some schools may offer O Level Computing which has a practical component, which will increase the use of computers in those schools (I'm unsure if they use hp computers since my school don't offer Computing).

From what I see, Music, PW, and CPA (CPA is NT only) are the subjects that will most likely require students to make use of the computers. Sorry I can't give much information, but this is what I observed and concluded.

I believe the question is with regards to the use of handphone in class

This depends on school policy, but I believe most schools do not allow the use of phone in class. For DS school, lockers are provided for all the students. They are supposed to keep their phones in the lockers during school hours, including recess.

Handphone are actively encouraged and allowed.

Schools understand that sometimes pupils want to chat but don’t want to disturb others. Hence, it’s better to let them communicate among themselves via WhatsApp, Snapchat, etc. Teachers as well. Sometimes no voice, bad day... so better to type it out than speak.

Schools also recognize that some lessons are very boring and uninteresting. Students need stimulation in order to perform. On those occasions, they are allowed to play Roblox, Minecraft, Among Us or whatever they fancy (as long as they use a earpiece of course).

Last but no least, we all know students got important matters to attend to and need to answer that email / take the call.

This is not true? Some schools do allow them to take out the handphone to take pictures of the board if they cannot copy fast enough. I believe they also use their phones to play kahoot to check on their understanding of new topics.

On a side note, I know of one tuition center that requires the students to surrender their handphone to the tutor at the start of the lesson.

In that case, in my school, handphones are not allowed in class unless under teachers' permission. We only use handphones for kahoot or if the teachers allows us to use our handphones for research purposes (could be for Art, PW, etc.)

In my school, during FCE, we place everything we have in our pockets (this includes handphones) on the teacher's desk. Could be for safety reason but I am unsure.

I have not experienced or seen others have an emergency when it comes to handphones so I can't answer that part... Sorry!

Hi, i understand that some schools allow them to use handphone for kahoot but control during class usage may depends on each school. With secondary students each getting a digital device in 2021, this may solve the problem as moe may have some features to "lock" access or limit each usage.

I've seen it on the news few months ago, but my school never brief us on this so I don't know whether we will receive/bring...
