Hi, for p5, is there a non HCL class?
What happens if we don't do HCL? Can we still go back to st nicks secondary after psle?

Are the students in non HCL classes given opportunities to go for math olympiad etc if their math is good enough?

      Thank you for sharing. 😊
      1. I am sure there is at least one non-HCL class.
      2. You do not need HCL to activate affiliation.
      3. For the MO question, I would imagine yes, but you should ask the school to be sure, esp if it is very impt to you.

        Dear all,

May I know how will we know whether which class is the top class and mixed ability class for P3 in 2021? Or no difference? Thanks!

Hi any PV for St Nicholas Girls here? Just want to find out if it is a very stringent process to apply to become a PV? is the religion and job of the parent(s) a consideration? Thanks!~

            1. Yes.
            2. Pretty selective based on what I've heard from fellow parents in the same class.
            3. Unable to comment.

            Caveat:
            a. you need to stay within 1km of the school to even be considered.
            b. You will need to commit min 40 hours to qualify and ANOTHER 20 hours if you happen to be successfully balloted in.

              Hi,

Appreciate if any parent can share more about the P1 and P2 formative assessments across all subjects. How regular is it and how is the standard in comparison to other schools?

              Thank you!

I hope P will shed some light on the affiliation points under the AL system.
This year (2020), is the last exiting Psle Tscore batch.

                1)

Affliation Cut-off-point (COP) set at 230 by St Nick, is approximately how many AL points ?

Why Tscore 230, is around 12 points ?
                Because
if each of the 4 subjects is 80 marks (ie. AL 3), Total will be 320.
                Take (320 x 0.73), is around 233 and

                (AL 3 x 4 subjects), give us AL 12

                so, Affliation COP 230,
                is around ... 12 AL points ?

                Or

Will our school seize this golden opportunity,
to reset the new Y2021 Affliation AL Psle,
move up to a higher standard AL bar, instead of let it remain 12 AL points, which is the equivalent of Tscore 230 ?

                Example

Do u think school can re-set the Y2021 Affliation, to 10 AL points ?
                Possible ?

                2)

                The official COP for

                - last year, 2019 Psle batch (born in 2007) : was 253 (O-level track) for external Non-affliated pupils.

                253 COP,
                is approximately ... 8 AL points ?

                - this year, for 2020 Psle batch (born in 2008), the COP was 254 (O-level track), shot up by 1 point !

                254 COP,
                is it also approximately ...
                8 AL points ?

                How to get COP 254,
                in four different permutation ?

                - 254 + 0 (never taken PSLE Higher Chinese), or

                - 253 + 1 (pass, in HCL) or

                - 252 + 2 (merit scored, for HCL) Or

                - 251 + 3 (distinction scored, for HCL)

                3)

There is No affliation, for IP track.

But for last year (2019) and this year (2020) these two Psle batches, the Cut-off-point for IP remained the same, both at 257.

                257 COP,
                is approximately ... 7 AL points ?

here is 2019 Psle COP ( moe sis)

                https://sis.moe.gov.sg/SchoolDetails.aspx?schoolCode=7118

Based on \"2019\" (born 2007, piggies) PSLE batch results,

                here is MOE press release,
                Indicative AL COP range :

Hi, I’m a new member. Can I check if anyone knows whether balloting is required under Phase 2C within 1km for singapore citizens to CHIJ St Nicholas Girls School? Can’t find any info regarding this. Not sure what are the chances like and whether worth trying? Thanks!

Balloting is required for SC under 1km under 2C.

Roughly 2 applicants to 1 vacancy.

                      already Year 2021, Term 1

                      !

2021 P6 (parents & students born in 2009)’ neck very long, already waited for so many years liao !

so, what is our school’s new Affliation " AL " Cut off point ?

equivalent to 230 Tscore (in the past, up to Year 2020)

                      or

                      No more ?

                      Instead, become

                      very close to the official "Non-affliation " Cut-off-point 254

(mark-to-market the last exiting historical 2020 Psle cohort, born in 2008, Cut-off-point ),

then add back 1 or 2 Affliation points,

                      ie.
follow identical to what is happening currently, to the O-level L1R5 Affliation Cut-off-point, that is,

maximum give only 2 discount points, for Secondary 4 SNGS (O-level track) students who are affliated to Catholic Junior College (CJC) ?

                      254 Tscore :
is equivalent to around AL 8 points
