I was wondering why in one of the earlier articles the mother had to pack 6 bags just for 2 people going to the QO hotel.

Now after several days of HBL and Zoom tuition, I think know why. Need to bring entire schoolbag plus all the tuition printouts, assessment books etc. Laptops and chargers etc.

      Staycation my foot.[/quote]
The staycation fun is in the child’s mind. The load of needs on mummy’s mind. 😅😂

        Another gd read.

For Airport, it is reasonable to assume that some old uncles and aunties working as cleaners etc may not know to well protect themselves against the virus. What about the medically trained in hospital? Surely they know about the virus and hence shld be better protect themselves more than the laymen.

So far it seems like the HBL is a lot more intense this year (primary). I thought last year had some SLS lessons, printouts to do, and actual lesson every few days. This year seems like lesson every day according to the timetable.

Glad they are learning and staying engaged. Kids and teachers are definitely more equipped for it. Downside is infront of screen from 8 AM well into the afternoon…

Ya I don’t think there’s any room cleaning at all. Probably u can only get fresh towels from housekeeping dept that’s all.

That’s why last time got some quarantine hotels had cockroach problem. Imagine some people eat potato chips & drop the crumbs on the bed, carpet & left there for 14 days. Sure got pests come and eat…

I think it depends on the age/schooling level of the child as well. Cos this year DS P5 so there’s more serious academic stuff to do. DS has been assigned online CL activities plus continue do activity book...EMS doing SA1 mock papers (which I assume would have been done in school if HBL hadn’t kicked in). Marking and corrections would probably be next week.

I heard the lower primary kids got nothing much to do. Still honeymoon.

I gave DS screen break every half hour, and a soothing eye mask at the end of each day. It’s really bad for their eyes. We just do OTOT and ignore any so-called deadlines.

Can’t wait for June holidays to start.

Next week is a short week, last week of Term 2,
then June school holiday start, because

                  1)

Wednesday (26 may) is public holiday (Vesak day), no HBL.

                  2)

                  Friday (28 May) :

some schools are having PTC (Parents Teacher Conference), since Friday is the last day of Term 2. So, no HBL for these schools

Good time to teach kids to eat neatly and clear up! I think you can probably request a broom or a vacuum cleaner from the staff?

One good thing about SHN (to me) would be that food is provided - no need to shop, cook, clear up!

I am curious to know if B1617.2 is in the community other than the changi airport clusters and if yes, how did they get them? Not sure if this is reported in the press.
