If the possible index case visited Westgate on May 6, infection confirmed on May 7, any reason given as to why free swab tests for those who visited between May 10 (why not May 6?) and May 22? Was her Westgate visit very short on May 6? :?

      -------------------------------------------------------------------

Free COVID-19 swab tests are now available to people who visited Jem or Westgate between May 10 and May 22. The tests were previously offered to those who visited between May 10 and May 14.

      https://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/singapore/covid-19-jem-westgate-cluster-50-cases-free-swab-tests-14880200

That is also the question that I have. They assumed that the cleaner is the cause of the JEM/Westgate cluster, but the cleaner only visited Westgate on 6 May 2021. Between 6 May to 10 May is 4 days in between, if the authorities is confident that this is the person, why did they not extend the testing to between 6 May and 22 May. And how about the source that infected the cleaner, has they been identified during SHN and what case number are they or is the source still unknown, and somewhere among us?

Could be the 2 weeks incubation period since yesterday is already 24 May
The 2 weeks incubation period is only an assumption. It has not been proven that covid-19 incubation period is only 14 days.

Take the example of case 63630, a 40 years old foreign domestic worker confirmed yesterday and classified as the TTSH cluster as she visited Ward 9D. She was put into quarantine on 30 April, tested negative on 3 May. Her quarantine is extended on 8 May as she was a household contact of case 63009. But on a 22 May test, she was positive and asymptotic. Even if you just count from 8 May, that is 18 days, 4 days more than the assumed 14 days incubation period. Faced with the unknown, I really hope the authorities should be less presumptive and more conservative in how they deal with an unknown.

        Expect some time lag 🙂
The places visited by confirmed cases are updated daily on a rolling basis. Venues visited by confirmed cases many days ago will pop up as and when a person is tested positive days or weeks later. Yes, there's the incubation period and some are fully vaccinated so more antibodies to fend off the virus longer.

Just a random check on the https://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/singapore/locations-visited-by-covid-19-cases-suntec-bugis-may-17-14829222, this 6 May Westgate entry hadn't appeared yet. But on the https://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/singapore/covid-19-locations-may-9-tampines-mall-junction-9-changi-airport-14770326, there was a 6 May JEM Donki entry, not this cleaner I suppose.

Yesterday, they'd just tested positive a few more Harvey Norman and https://www.todayonline.com/singapore/punggol-plaza-mbs-mall-among-places-visited-covid-19-cases-while-infectious from the Westgate outlet, as such they've extended the period till 22 May.

Last night, my entire family's also just received a red alert on our TT informing us of ''possible exposures'' at a mega mall in town which we visited some 10 days ago! We were like, Huh? A bit belated hor? This shopping mall was never in the daily-published MOH list over the past 1-2 weeks until last night. That means someone's just been tested positive yesterday, thereafter MOH traced all his/her footprints and updated that list and alerted all those sharing overlapping times & venues with that guy.

He/she'd visited the same mall as we had during the same period, but oddly, this guy didn't check in or out any retail shop or F&B at all. He/she only spent 30min in that mall. Could be a food delivery person?

For this mall, if there's a cluster in the coming fortnight, I'm sure they would invite all shoppers and diners who'd been there on that day and days thereafter, to do a free swab too.

I find the TT token and app a bit confusing. There were some restaurant and boutiques which provided the SafeEntry Reader so I didn't scan the QR Code using my HP. I tapped with my physical token instead.

And guess what? The retail venues that I used/didn't use my physical token to check in didn't show up on my HP TT app as ''Possible Exposures'' venues!
Why I didn't use the physical token to check in? They said only F&B need to check in because we need to remove our masks, but retail outlets don't need to anymore, as long as you've checked in with the TT at the main entrance of the shopping mall.

My family members did not use their tokens but their HP TT app, so they have more \"Possible exposures\" than me. 😂

So you can imagine those elderly who'd used their physical tokens won't know about their ‘’Possible exposures\" until the authorities alert them, or when they happen to read online news to see the updated venue list! 😓

TT token may be more convenient, just tap and go, but you are essentially “blind” to any possible exposures…ya, must wait for MOH to call u if they found that you had prolonged contact with a confirmed case. Suits those who like to “ignorance is bliss”, I just go about my daily life.

Whereas if you choose to scan QR code using your TT app, you can see your possible exposures updated & u can monitor your symptoms.

Not sure if merely tapping your TT app against the scanner notifies you of possible exposures or not. But I know it doesn’t show the mall inside your list of check ins. It only gives a nice beep sound to satisfy the counter staff.

huh? you mean the TT token is not seamlessly integrated with the TT app on the mobile phone? Thought every TT token is linked to a phone if you declare so when collecting; no?

The token is merely linked to your HP number so they can call you if need be. It does not sync check in or other data with your phone app leh.

Will have to see if these 3 are staying or working at the same place as the Malaysian dorm resident Case 63622 (23 May).

Dorm residents do come into contact with members of our community. For instance, some town council/MOH chaps who helped to set up the swab stations and disinfect the Hougang Ave 8 and Pasir Rise St 51 blocks were migrant workers.

Could be the 2 weeks incubation period since yesterday is already 24 May
Hi, thanks for sharing.

It was mentioned in the article (refer link below) that the free swab test was first announced on May 18 (for visitors from May 10 to 14) and then extended on May 24 (visitors from May 10 to 22).

                      https://www.channelnewsasia.com/news/singapore/covid-19-jem-westgate-cluster-50-cases-free-swab-tests-14880200

So incubation period was not the factor (why they pick visitors from May 10) for the first announcement on May 18. But it is likely the reason after I read .zeit's post on the time lapse (this index case's places of visit came up days later). Please refer zeit's post below:-
