TT token may be more convenient, just tap and go, but you are essentially “blind” to any possible exposures...ya, must wait for MOH to call u if they found that you had prolonged contact with a confirmed case. Suits those who like to “ignorance is bliss”, I just go about my daily life.

Whereas if you choose to scan QR code using your TT app, you can see your possible exposures updated & u can monitor your symptoms.

Not sure if merely tapping your TT app against the scanner notifies you of possible exposures or not. But I know it doesn’t show the mall inside your list of check ins. It only gives a nice beep sound to satisfy the counter staff.
huh? you mean the TT token is not seamlessly integrated with the TT app on the mobile phone? Thought every TT token is linked to a phone if you declare so when collecting; no?
The token is merely linked to your HP number so they can call you if need be. It does not sync check in or other data with your phone app leh.
TT app and TT token are probably sync'd after 17 May. I went to that mall before the switch-over.
TT token and old SafeEntry app were definitely not sync'd before 17 May.

I kind of prefer the physical token as it's like our contactless RFID cards.

As far as I know, for confirmed cases, MOH will give them an upload code. They then have to self-submit the data from their TT app using the unique upload code.

And if they have been using their token to move around, also surrender the token to MOH for them to extract the data.

There’s no syncing between token and app. Otherwise I’d be able to see a list of where my kid has been checking in with his token.

            Check in using TraceTogether

This can be done in three ways at venue entrances:

            • Use the TraceTogether app to scan a venue's SafeEntry QR code.

            • Let staff at the venue scan your TraceTogether token's QR code.

            • Just like using an ez-link card, tap your TraceTogether token or phone with the TraceTogether app on a new device called the SafeEntry Gateway.

            SafeEntry Gateway
If you use TraceTogether token, there is no history of check-in record in your phone's TraceTogether app.

If you use TraceTogether app, according to safeentry.gov.sg (refer link below)
Check-ins through SEGW will not be displayed. The history tab of the TT App will only display check-ins made via scanning the venue’s QR code.

However, it seems that there are some phones which display the Check-ins through SEGW in the TraceTogether app. Perhaps it is a new feature or maybe it only works for certain phone models.

            Stay safe everyone!

Since there is no history of visits when using token, does this mean we would be passive ie we will only be notified by MOH if we were close to a confirmed case? If we use the app, there is a list of history of visits and Possible Exposure, hence we become more proactive?

From the article and FAQ, the SafeEntry Gateway was designed with no history of check-ins (via token or TraceTogether app).

I think most of us prefer to see the history of check-ins.

For those who prefer to see the history of check-ins, try using the TraceTogether app to tap SafeEntry Gateway. Some phone users are able to view the Check-ins (despite what the FAQ says) but I am not sure whether it works for all phones.

Hope that I did not misread the article and FAQ.

                Stay safe.

                  Thanks.

To be exact, there's no syncing between TT physical token and TT app, at least before 17 May.

I've tallied my total no of ''Exchanges'' with the other family members on that day at the mall.
My total no. of ''bluetooth exchanges'' with other transient shoppers was 1,626, versus the others which were 7,153.

Why they had more contacts? Because they didn't switch off their bluetooth function at all, whereas I did, to save battery. So although I had my physical token with me on my body, it didn't seem to ''exchange'' with other transient patrons and did not add up to 7,153.

PS: before 17 May, some stores did not have the Reader, so I checked in with the TT app.

What happens if I was a Close contact of a COVID-19 case?

If you're identified as a Close contact* of a COVID case, the Ministry of Health (MOH) will call you using the mobile number you registered on TraceTogether, to better understand the nature of your contact with the infected patient. They will then provide you with the relevant information and care, to protect you and your loved ones.

*Close contact is defined as being in close proximity of a COVID case over an extended period of time. TraceTogether's Bluetooth proximity technology supports MOH in identifying Close contacts, while preserving users' privacy. MOH continually reviews the proximity and time parameters for Close contact, to keep up with the COVID situation.

                      Hope this helps.

MOH takes a tiered approach when it comes to advising users who could have interacted with a COVID-19 case:

                      - If the risk of infection is assessed to be low: Users are informed via the Possible exposure feature, for self-monitoring.

                      - If the risk of infection is assessed to be high (e.g. you're a Close contact based on TraceTogether's Bluetooth proximity records): MOH will call you to understand the nature of the contact and advise on the relevant measures you should take.

TL;DR: Possible exposure does not mean you're a Close contact of a COVID-19 case. If you had Close contact with a COVID-19 case, you would have received a call from MOH. We'll continually review the above process of informing users as the COVID-19 situation evolves 🙂

Surprised to see that the authorities have set aside 2 more CCFs. Thought MOH said we're rather stable these 2 weeks with roughly about 20-40 daily cases only? Is that a harbinger of things to come? :scratchhead:
