So does anyone know what happened to ntu waitlist?

If one has been successful in their application to other programmes, do accept it while you wait for the Medicine waitlist outcome. The waitlist move is pretty slow as it could only offer it to the next person in the queue list if only there is a slot being vacated by someone not matriculating this year but we have many waitlist vying for such limited slots. Luck is in play here. Usually NTU LKCSoM will notify those waitlist that is not successful by middle of July.

DS said a unofficial group chat on WhatsApp has been set up for 2021 LKC Med freshmen. It’s unofficial so those people in the group chat are invited on a word-of-mouth basis (ie.who knows who that has confirmed LKC and adds him/her into chat). There are around 130 people in the chat so far. If the intake is 150 then there’s certainly WL offers to be made -but we don’t know how exhaustive or accurate the 130 is, because there could be more people whom others haven’t added, or whether any amongst these might change their minds (eg. To go overseas , not disrupting army or whatever).

DISRUPTION FROM FULL-TIME NATIONAL SERVICE (NS) FOR MEDICAL STUDIES AT NUS

Only selected full-time National Servicemen (NSFs) who are deemed suitable to serve as doctors in the Singapore Armed Forces (SAF), Singapore Police Force (SPF), or Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) during their full-time NS will be eligible for disruption to pursue undergraduate medical studies. The Local Medical Disruption Scheme (LMDS) applies only to servicemen who are selected for undergraduate medical studies locally. It is not applicable to servicemen who wish to pursue medical studies overseas.

From those who have secured places to study undergraduate medicine in NUS, a number of servicemen will be selected for disruption under this scheme. This number is based on manpower and operational requirements of the Singapore Armed Forces for NSF Medical Officers (MOs). Hence, not all servicemen who have secured places in NUS will be disrupted under this scheme. Servicemen who have qualified for undergraduate medical studies in NUS are not required to apply for disruption under this scheme as they will automatically be considered for selection.

Selection for disruption from full-time NS will be based on the following criteria:

a) Good military performance/conduct, with no adverse disciplinary records during their full-time NS up to the point of disruption.
b) Medically and physically fit to undergo rigorous training to assume the duties as Medical Officers in a military environment.
c) At the point of disruption, candidates should have successfully completed their Basic Military Training.
d) Servicemen should have at least 12 months of full-time NS service balance to serve as a medical officer (including the time required to attend the Medical Officer Cadet Course but not including the time to attend Basic Military Training) upon re-enlistment. Those without the minimum full-time NS service balance will be requested to agree to a voluntary extension of service as a condition for disruption.

NSFs who are disrupted under the LMDS must meet the following training requirements:

a) Non-specialist Track: Serve 6 to 12 months of Medical Officer posting in hospitals under the Ministry of Health after their housemanshipOR
b) Specialist Track: Complete two years of Residency /post-graduate training after their graduation from NUS, before they are re-enlisted to serve out their remaining full-time NS commitment as MOs in one continuous period,AND
c) Undergo at least 3 months of clinical postings in Emergency Medicine and/or Anaesthesiology prior to their re- enlistment, AND

I heard those with CO in my DS’s Camp had a session with their Leaders already to sign some Form.

hello, for those on the waitlist (NUS), if not offered up till now after the two batches (the week of 24th May, and 8th June), does that mean that chances are they wont be offered for this year?
