How far or how long to get to Pasir Ris MRT? If going from MRT, can take EW line to Bugis, transfer to DTL line and take that to Tan Kah Kee. From there either walk or take bus 1-2 stops and at HCI gate. I'm guessing Pasir Ris MRT to classroom is probably 1 hour 10 mins though. If you are further Northwest of Pasir Ris MRT, there may be some bus routes that may be more efficient.

You can search for school bus service too, although pickup time is probably 6 AM +/-. Will still have to figure out the return trip in this scenario too (know some kids take bus-MRT in reverse of the above back to MRT stations pretty far East on the EW line). -
anyone staying near Yio chu kang/ sunrise estate area near Amoy Quee Camp?
we are considering HCI but distance is a challenge
nearest mrt is YCK or Lentor but we need to take bus down to YCK/Lentor before starting the mrt journey
total traveling time will be 1hr 15mins there about
any students spending this much time traveling?
just wondering the toil it has on the kids and if it’s uncommon -

There are definitely kids travelling 1 hour+ each day. It's not uncommon but not sure how common either. Is it ideal? No. Can it be managed? Yes. Is it worth it? Everyone will have a different answer (kind of depends on how near your other options are).

One thing to keep in mind is the days get longer in upper sec. On the other hand, the kids may be more efficient at studies by that point. I also think there is a difference on how efficient/effective different kids can be while on public transport. If you can do work or revise then or alternatively use this period as all of your relaxing/down time it may not be so bad.
Hopefully someone can give you more detailed reply on exactly what it was like for their kid traveling 1 hour 15 mins for 6 years (apologies but I can't help here). -

Since your nearest MRT is TEL and NSL, while HCI is along DTL, takes very long to change over.
Faster to take bus + bus instead. A lot of my HCJC friends commuted from all over Singapore using bus + bus method.
