      Why would it be confiscated?
I don't think e-readers are confiscated even in pri-schools just because they are brought to school, right?

Unless the student is reading it when other things are going on, eg. while the teacher is teaching or during times when they are supposed to be paying attention, etc, I don't see why an e-reader would be confiscated. Anyway, from Sec2 onwards, they have (and are supposed to bring and use) personal IT devices like laptops/ ipads.

Don't worry - they aren't treated like small kids anymore but are expected to act and behave responsibly. So your e-reader is probably safe.
I think the fear is that it might get stolen on school grounds, which gives headaches to the school. But then again, we are talking about Secondary schools here, where everyone is already provided with ipads/notebooks. So the school should be more open. Just curious, why bring an e-reader to school? Why not just access Kindle via an app on your approved ipad?

Just wonder can students bring kindle (e-book) to school? Will it be confiscated?
Students are allowed to bring kindles to school! Just don't use it during lessons and you should be fine šŸ™‚ Additionally PLDs will be bought in Sec 1 so you might like to consider that too! During recesses and breaks mobile phones are also freely allowed to be used so you could also download the Kindle app on your phone and look at it so you don't have to bring so many devices :))

Yes. I put nanyang as 1st choice
Those who DSA through GEP are in 102 & 103 classes. Think 101 & 112 are for elective programs students. The remaining 8 classes are for others like other DSAs, students through PSLE score (including top scorers , or GEP who came in through PSLE etc)

The specification of GEP classes varies from year to year (i.e. not 102 & 103 every year).

              Need advice.

              1. Is ebook textbook is necessary or just hardcopy will do?
              2. How many sets of blouse and tshirt to buy?

              Thanks

U are referring to maths textbook, there is no need to buy digital version. Think you need to buy both sec 1 and 2 maths textbook. My DD going sec 2 is buying sec 3 maths textbook.

                My DD bought 3 sets.

My friend once told me that her e-reader was confiscated in her sec school and I am afraid to bring my one to school. And I used to think that NYGH is a strict school and digital devices are prohibited in school. šŸ˜„
Anyway, Sec school is a lot different from primary school.

By the way, do you have any reminders or tips for students who are going to NYGH next year? Thank you!

Posting results not out yet, so it's unlikely the whatsapp group has been created.
