Today’s Update (9 September)
Good morning everyone! Resetting for the day. Today is the last working day before the actual deadline (12 September) for DSA results set by MOE. Given that we are so close to that deadline, schools might just wait to announce their results on 12 September. Nonetheless, anything can happen so for those who are still waiting, best of luck!
New Entries*
Singapore Chinese Girls' School (SCGS), with thanks to @pris_syan for the update.
Temasek Secondary School, with thanks to @Joy_ful123 for the update.
*All updates today will be identified in red font
Congrats to all who received COs & WLs. And, GOOD LUCK to all students and parents regardless!

You should ask your friends where they are hearing this from as you can tell from the replies, they're obviously misinformed. :slapshead:
That's what I thought so too. But my friends are telling me DSA to HCI/NYGH etc need PSLE of AL 9 (for example) to qualify and confirm the DSA… -

Also have similar question - whether anybody got CO from IP schools via Math/Science with overall AL around 12. My DS has Gold in NMOS and SPSO, HD in RIPMWC but Top 20 in none and getting about 70+ in languages. Should we be even expecting a shortlist for IP.
Can I ask for those who got CO - is there a conditional acceptance like the child must get AL 9 (for example) in PSLE then will be confirmed? For example for IP schools. -

I’ve been told this as well. But as far as I know they only need to meet MOE express cop.

Is your DS in p5 now? If so, there is time to improve on his school grades. My sense is that if the school grades are not too far off from the actual cut off, the awards should be able to cover to a certain extent. In P6 there will also be SMOPS and APMOPS to aim for. You could also send your child for credible external competitions like AMC 8 and 10 to beef up his math portfolio. Good luck!

Hope it helps. -

Very unlikely to shortlist for the interview round especially when your child is in GE. As mentioned by another forummer, since your child is only P5, he still have time to pull up his language score to at least AL3. He needs to put in effort in the coming EOY. Good luck!

Thank you all for your feedback. Really appreciate that. Yes he is in GE. I hope he can take things more seriously now and improve his school grades. Best wishes to all the kids for coming exams.

It is an unfair comparison…
Geppers are given a diff exam papers hence benchmarking is different. Lest Chinese, but it may differ from school to school, some of the geppers do GEP Chinese. Of course assuming your child is taking Chinese as MT.
Once Prelims comes, they will join their peers to take the Mainstream exams.
Dont need kan chiong….
