Hi all, I have a question about the Sec 4 promo criteria. What if the gals can’t meet the required MSGof B3?

They will hv to sit for a foundational placement exam to ascertain if they qualify to move on to HCI.

Thanks for your reply. For the foundation exams, is the criteria still B3 or better? And if the gals still can’t clear this assessment? What are their options?

This is what I heard so pls verify with school. Max subjects for foundational assessment (FA) is 3 (ie the worst 3 subjects below B3) and the outcome is that it replaces the EOY scores of these subjects (ie 50%). Overall MSG>3 then can proceed to HCI. Otherwise repeat Yr4 or leave school with nygh cert?

                Hi NYGH parents

Can I check if my gal is not talking HCL for psle in 2022, can she apply for NYGH with her 4 subject score ?

Is it compulsory to take HCL in primary school to apply to NYGH?

                Thanks

                  No need lah !

                  If she got AL 4,
she can study in any Secondary school in Singapore,

                  regardless of
whether she sat for Psle HCL, or never even taken HCL before.

                  But,
                  once your daughter entered NYGH,
                  then from Sec 1 onwards,
all IP students studying inside NYGH have to take HCL,

by virtue of the fact that

                  NYGH is a ( SAP + IP ) school.

                      Hi NYGH parents,

For those experienced parents, can you share what is the point of the Advanced Subjects in Sec 3? Do they come with exams?

The girls going through final exams. 加油 everyone!
The girls learn the subjects at a more in-depth level. It is to expand their exposure and deepen their interest in that subject. Pre-covid, they also get to attend workshops and talks by industry people. Unfortunately the current sec 4 batch missed out on all those.

For advanced Sc and Math, the girls need to take an extra paper. Results not counted into their msg.

For HP students, advanced Lit and advanced History/Geography replace Lit and History/Geography. They take a separate paper and results counted into their msg.

Does more in depth mean learning A levels syllabus ahead of time?
