I am looking for P4-P6 Higher Chinese Handbook 高级华文字词. Anyone selling preloved copies, pls let me know. -
I think a simple and easy to understand word list helps build a child's vocabulary faster than reading the handbook.
Here is a sample page to show how easy to understand the primary 5 and 6 words using this book.

Hihi, my DS is in p5 and I’ve noticed he now has problems finishing writing his picture compo in 50 minutes. He is usually able to finish covering the content in the pictures and also the question mark box, but sometimes runs out of time writing a conclusion (eg lessons learnt, etc). May I find out in actual exams, how heavily penalised would the child be if he/she is unable to complete the composition by a sentence or two?

Based on your shared scenario, since the complete story (as in full sequence of events) has been told, at least there isn't a major issue regarding incomplete structure/story plot (结构残缺).
If along the story, the moral/theme has already been mentioned (for example, if the theme is about responsibility and in the story, the character was lectured for his/her lack of responsibility and acknowledged & learnt from it), then missing out on 1-2 sentences in which the character's takeaway from the incident was intended to be highlighted/summarized, the consequence will be minimal (~1 mark).
However, if there's little/no mention about the theme/moral throughout the story, then the max. grading for content will be low/mid tier of Level 2 (Rubrics for Pri CL & HCL Compo Marking: https://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?t=25131&start=970#p1893302), i.e. capped at 13 or 14 marks. -

Ahh thanks so much for your reply. Understand now and will try to guide him accordingly. I was always wondering why he was scoring well for zuowen in p3 and 4 but suddenly in p5, his compo marks don't seem to be very good even though his language is quite sound and he uses good phrases. I now realise it is probably because he doesn't really touch on the theme / moral in the body of the story and is merely describing events. Thank you for the very useful advice 👍 😀

Since your child is in Pri 5, there's is still time to work on his time management (afterall, Pri 3 and 4 pic compo \"only\" has 4 pictures with no \"?\").
You may want to take a look at https://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?f=69&t=81235&p=1936357&hilit=theme#p1936357 which includes sharing on main+sub theme as well as recommended procedure for pic compo writing.
