I think submission of UCAS only require O-Level or Year 4 IP results. The JC will submit their predicted A-level grades (the students will not know the predicted grades).
Have u applied? Understand Imperial is calling up for interview this week. Submission was based on prelim results, no need perfect scores at this stage.
Some UK Universities may follow up with further documentation required (e.g., Year-End/Prelim results) while others will just proceed with the school's predicted grades. -

For parents with JC kids who have applied for UK universities (i.e. UCAS), may I know if the JCs share the predicted grades with the students? (During my time, I knew my predicted grades but that was like 25 years ago haha)

No, the students do not know their predicted grades. Thanks for the info Coast! Actually if predicted grades not strong, for guys, it may be better to wait for actual results…

I think deep pocket is a far more important consideration than perfect scores. England needs more overseas students now than before.
Hi newkeynesian,
Yes, need deep pocket but will apply for scholarship otherwise just study in Singapore. Thanks -

Hi doodbug,
Are you applying with predicted grades (i.e. currently in JC2), or actual grades (i.e. usually in NS or taking gap year)?
Anyone can apply with any grades, but to stand a chance at admission, you would need near perfect grades (predicted or actual) for the relevant content subjects. GP, PW, MT don't really count for most UK universities.
My son plans to apply next yr (first yr in NS) He is J2 this yr. He still don't know whether he wants Science course or Engineering course.
So Most UK universities only count 3 H2 or 4 H2? I also heard that GP don't really count but not so sure. He is good in Sci subjects and he is taking H3 Chemistry. Thanks -

oh if you are applying next year, you will be applying with actual and not predicted grades.
Generally for UK universities, GP does not count. The top UK universities will look at 4H2s though some may require AAA and not AAAA. -

Thanks for replying. Are you applying this yr?
