I think deep pocket is a far more important consideration than perfect scores. England needs more overseas students now than before.

      Hi newkeynesian,

Yes, need deep pocket but will apply for scholarship otherwise just study in Singapore. Thanks

Are you applying with predicted grades (i.e. currently in JC2), or actual grades (i.e. usually in NS or taking gap year)?

Anyone can apply with any grades, but to stand a chance at admission, you would need near perfect grades (predicted or actual) for the relevant content subjects. GP, PW, MT don't really count for most UK universities.
        Hi doodbug,

My son plans to apply next yr (first yr in NS) He is J2 this yr. He still don't know whether he wants Science course or Engineering course.

So Most UK universities only count 3 H2 or 4 H2? I also heard that GP don't really count but not so sure. He is good in Sci subjects and he is taking H3 Chemistry. Thanks

oh if you are applying next year, you will be applying with actual and not predicted grades.

Generally for UK universities, GP does not count. The top UK universities will look at 4H2s though some may require AAA and not AAAA.

Different countries and universities have different closing dates for applications. These are almost always earlier than scholarship confirmation dates. So do apply to universities according to the dates they set. If not, you will have to wait another year to apply.

When did your boys apply for US/UK Uni? In JC 2 or during NS?

You can do it concurrently. Different scholarships have different deadlines (some have multiple application windows). All the best.
