Hi
I am thinking.
From your house (Bukit Batok) to Cedar Girls, the distance travelling is too far, for your daughter.
Perhaps,
can consider Nan Hua, Crescent Girls, Bukit Panjang or some other schools nearer your house. Unless you rent out your house in the west, in turn rent another house closer to Cedar Girls, for the next 4 years.
Thanks. Actually, our MT is Tamil. So we cannot go to SAP schools.
Bukit Panjang Govt school -> yes, but for Tamil, she has to travel to another school on a weekday.
Crescent -> Also an hour journey.
Swiss cottage is just opposite to our house... walking distance.
Renting out -> Possible. Still in consideration
Thanks. -

She likes travelling. With AL8 (and we are Singaporeans), if we are lucky to get any of these SCGS-IP/O/MGS-O, she is excited to travel as it is very convenient. Bukit Timah area is her favourite and we are very used to that area.
Hello MrCool, how does your child feel about the different travelling distances? Perhaps that would help with the selections?[/quote]
But Cedar, with 2-3 transfers, and a new area, she is concerned. -
I used the traveling time on a bus to reflect on my studies. I have a terrible motion sickness so I can't really read while traveling. So on the way back home, I would try to recall each lesson during the day and by the time the bus gets me home, I done
I did it so often that it has become automatic, and this exercise helps me a lot when I get down to writing down notes for the day. See if your child can do the same

Hi, I came across this VCA IP GPA table, just curious if anyone may know why for the Grade Value 4.0 the range is separated into two ie 70<%<85 and %>85, while actually both sets are given same grade value of 4.0?
2nd question, for the Psle ESIS award is it applicable until y4 or y2 only. Heard that “new rule” said that there will be ESIS test in y3 (info is not confirmed), is this true?
Thanks in advance. -

Scholarships of up to $2,400 per year are offered to top-performing Singaporean students at independent schools in Singapore.

The ESIS award is for 4 years (O-Level Programme) or 6 years (IP Programme). This is subject to their good progress and conduct each year.
There is a chance for those who did not get ESIS earlier to be nominated for ESIS test at end of Sec 2.
You can use the following link for the list of independent schools:

All the best. -

Cedar Girls' Secondary, is not an Independent school. Hence, ESIS is not applicable here, at Cedar.

So,
which are the \" Independent \"
All Girls' schools, where ESIS can become applicable ?
They are
(Raffles Girls,
Nanyang Girls High,
MGS,
SCGS) Secondary.
In other words,
If u want your daughter to apply her ESIS,
then
she should enrol into one of the above four named All Girls \"Independent\" schools instead, but not Cedar Girls. -
O-level Sec 4 Cedar Girls’ students are not affliated to Victoria Junior College (A-level).
But,
O-level Sec 4 boys from Victoria Secondary, are affliated to Victoria JC (A-level). -
@coast and @phtthp, thank you 🙏🏻 for your detailed explanation.
DD got ESIS for her psle result (5D), however I was under the impression that IP school = Esis, so we put Cedar IP as first choice as it is the nearest to home and it has Vjc affiliation. My mistake…
O well, too late then haha..should’ve consulted kiasuparents gurus earlier I guess. -
Posting results are out. So early.
