You all brought up a point for me to suddenly realised it… on just ‘anyhow’ apply for dsa, knowing well of the low chances. There is an issue to take care of…not everyone’s interest will maintain after a rejection!

        Of course !
        feelings can go, both ways.

        Some P6 students,
having been turned down / rejected by their DSA school,
are not even interested in appealing back to the same old school anymore. Analogy ?
Is like u attend a job interview & they turned u down, so u accept the verdict & move on to some other company to work in,

while others, those who received either

(whose Wait-list Not been converted into CO, but at least they have been offered a Wait-list,

        or
        received Rejection) ,
will still proceed ahead to try appeal.

( to highlight, the different group of feeling )

If you “anyhow” apply, you won’t even make it pass the first round. If you are shortlisted, that means there’s something that the school sees in you.

There are a variety of reasons why one gets rejected for DSA, and the reasons are not always negative. Sometimes, there’s only 1 spot available and you happen to be the second or third pick, or you could be playing in a position where the school would like to have but not in desperate need. In short, you could be high up on the list but not the priority for DSA.

Therefore, if you meet the COP, just appeal if that’s your dream school. Just another piece of paper to fill, no costs involved.

Hi parents, when appealing to secondary schools provided we meet the cut off point, can we also submit Edusave awards and other leadership positions in primary school, and will it make the student stand a better chance? TIA!

              Yes, of course !

Produce ALL supporting documents, so as to improve your higher chance of Appealing, because others are competing with u, during the Appeal process. Remember, the vacancies for Appeal (if still remain, after S1 posting exercise) are limited, very few ! Also, if u are short-listed, be mentally prepared to attend an interview

                Not tomorrow,

but in the last week of December,
                After Christmas is over,
                closer towards 1 January 2023,
                then,
you will know your Sec 1 class allocation.
                Ok thank you!

May I know if they will find out their class allocations tomorrow after S1 postings is out?
Class allocations will usually show up on PG (parents gateway app) last week of December.

Do you have the appeal form of HCI?
                    Hope will not use it.

Some of the Appeal Forms are now available, can see some of the different info schools are requesting (if you may be on the COP and subject to ballot).

                      ..

I think they are trying to ask how interested were you in RGS? I.e. put RGS first choice and tried to DSA to RGS --> very interested. I would say Question 5 must be a yes and it helps if Question 6 is a yes. But this is just my guess...
Yes, I think you’re right. Questions 5-8 are pluses when it’s a yes.

Yea I agree too..do it with a 'wider' heart thinking.
