      School has sent us

\"Start of the new year, 2023\" letter
to all Sec 1 to Sec 4 parents,
      inside Parents Gateway,
      can go and read.

No more mid-year exam in our school for all levels,
      but
still have \"Weighted Assessments\". Can refer to your 2023 school student's diary content, for the Apportionment
of these weighted mini tests, at regular Termly interval.

Much closer towards the time due to conduct these regular check point Termly Weighted assessments -

your class Form Teacher / subject Teachers
will inform you the exact (precise) test dates and subjects & chapters / topics, to be tested.

Does St Nick favours students who are catholic, especially between 2 capable students in appointments and positions but will choose one who is catholic over the non-catholic?
        1)

If is just normal (Sec 1 to Sec 4) class Prefect, don't think so.
As long as the Form Tr and Co-form Tr favor the pupil, can already.

        2) for Cca Leadership position,

need to ask the Cca Teachers in charge what else they look out for, besides possess Leadership and besides excelling in that specific, unique
Cca Sports / Performance Arts / Uniform Group category.

        Eg.

        Hockey / Gymnastics (Sports) or

Violin Ensemble / Chinese or Modern dance / Choir (Performance Arts) or

National Police Cadet Corp / Girls Guide (Uniform group) or

        Debate Club.

        3)
        But,
for that unique school Head Prefect position -

        a) first, this high profile position need to be voted in by the students themselves inside the entire (whole) school.

Don't think Sec 1 to Sec 4 students bother whether u are a Catholic or not. Perhaps, students voted
        based on popularity,
whether u are well liked by your fellow peers in school and
whether u are of the right calibre Leadership or not.
That is, are u the right fit (candidate), for this role ?

        b) secondly,
school Principal, VPs, subject Teachers can also nominate the Head Prefect. Teachers' requirements / criteria are perhaps different, from us (students).

        ============================

But for other missionary Secondary schools like say,
        in

        ACSI or
St Andrew Secondary or Presbyterian High or
        Kuo Chuan Presbyterian or

        Paya Lebar Methodist Girls' or
        Fairfield Methodist or
Methodist Girls' Secondary school, (@ Bukit Timah) -

        for that Head Prefect post,
I think Yes, they may factor in the pupil's faith.

Anything transparent is ok, including transparent ear studs or sticks.

                For O-level track

2023 Sec 3 HCL students (born in 2008),
who are preparing for pu-hua (O-level) this year,
                in November 2023,

you may want to take note of the question posed by a parent (niseko00)
                and the reply
                given by chenlaoshi :-

We usually buy the transparent ear studs online. It should be transparent and inconspicuous.

Transparent ear stick is the standard communication from the school. So far, my girls have been using transparent ear studs without any issues.

School started this morning, Tuesday, 3 January 2023.

Is the first day of school,
a brand new Year begin, afresh!

                    The old has past.
                    The new has come !
                    Welcome back, to school 😉

                    =============================

2022 GCE \"O\" level results (pupils born in year 2006)
                    will be out tentatively,

next week Thursday (12 January 2023),

                    around 2 pm.

                    Parents can login online,
to view your daughter's O-level results, at home / office,
                    while Sec 4 graduated
                    students come back to school,
to collect their results slip from Form Teachers.

You may use your child's Singpass, or the student's Singpass, to login to view results. Not use the parent's Singpass.

                    ============================

                    Hence,
                    during this one week break,
                    think through carefully,
what do u want to do with your life or where do u want to go, next in direction ?
To go JC, to Polytechnic, or to IB (SJI / ACSI ) ?

                    If choose Polytechnic,
                    then make sure
u choose the correct 3-years Poly course to study,
                    because
your university degree later on, will more or less be \" related \"
                    to your Poly course studied.

                    Because
once O-level results are out next Thur (12 Jan), u have a short batch window time frame, to evaluate and to submit your next options / choices, before date line is due.

                    If keen in Junior Colleges,
here are some L1R5 Cut off point, for 2021 O-level batch (born in 2005) :-

                    https://www.sgschoolscop.com/junior-colleges-cut-off-point/

                    If keen in Polytechnic,
can attend their various Poly Open house.
