Thank you for the stats. Is there a place where we can find number of seats in each sec school for admission in 2024? Am looking stats for other schools as well.
Total is 10 classes of 32 students each.
4 classes of IP, and 6 classes of express.
From this year sec 1 onwards there seems to have some changes. But if you refer to sec 1 booklist, maths textbook used is different for some classes. Can also compare ib vs express booklist.
From what I observed, those in non SBA classes, caught up and those in SBA switched to non SBA in sec 2. so it is evident that psle score is not cast in stone for many kids.
They have robotics lessons in sec 1 and coding in sec 2 for everyone.
Swimming as PE lessons for a term every year.
The website recently uploaded the briefing slides. Very informative. Check it out.
Open house shld be in Apr, May.
Thank you. -

Will need help: could you compare NJC Junior High and MGS IP? Their strengths and not-so-strong?

just want to highlight that
...
B has more options for the IB, since passing HCL (which she certainly will) meets MOE requirements and she can then do
ANY
language she wants for IB second language.
...
when MGS (IB) students go up to Year 5 (ACSI IB) or when JAE students after O-level join ACSI for IB in Year 5,
this part about \"Any\" language for second language written by above person (autolycus), is ... FALSE.
Why ?
Because
Take note -
For Year 5 students who are interested in German (as an example illustrated),
IB (ACSI) does not offer, in Year 5.
Don't offer German, in Year 5.
But Yes,
do offer Spanish & French, in Year 5, though !
If u don't believe,
feel free to
clarify with Principal of ACSI [IB], directly.
The telephone number of ACSI, is here. You may contact the Principal for clarification, directly :-

The first question,
Will need help: could you compare NJC Junior High and MGS IP? Their strengths and not-so-strong?[/quote]
u should find out more is :-
Is your own P6 child more keen in IB path (MGS) or the A-level path (National Junior College) ?
Compare & contrast IB vs. A-level, first. After u finish contrasting,
then
u will know whether your own kid prefer
IB (MGS)
OR
prefer A-level (NJC) :-
Which path, do u think, suits your own kid, better ?

Obviously. The school can't possibly offer all the languages in the world. To clarify, you can opt for any language that the school offers. Yes, I do encourage that you find out what those are. Sigh.

Hi all, I read in other school threads that at Sec 1 (IP), the kids are exposed to Sec 2 or even upper sec content. Does anyone know if it’s school dependent or is ut because it’s IP? Thank you!

All IP schools have different curriculum. Moe does not standardize. Moe gives \"free hand\" authority, to all school Principal(s) of IP (IB + A-level destination bound) Secondary schools,
Hi all, I read in other school threads that at Sec 1 (IP), the kids are exposed to Sec 2 or even upper sec content. Does anyone know if it’s school dependent or is ut because it’s IP? Thank you!
from year 1 to year 6,
how they want to run their own IP programme.
Even amongst the Independent IP schools like RI / RGS, RI IP-A level curriculum is also different from that of
( Hwa Chong./ Nanyang Girls High ) IP.
Government IP curriculum schools like Dunman High (IP),
is also different from that of Temasek JC (IP), or Catholic High (IP), or Victoria (IP).
MGS is the only \"All Girls\" IB Secondary school in SG. Her IB curriculum, is entirely different from rest of the other IP (A-level) destination bound Secondary schools. Thus, you can only compare MGS (IB) with ACSI (IB) or with SJI (IB). Must compare apples, with apples. No use comparing apples, with oranges.
MGS (IB), will merge into ACSI (IB), at year 5, because ACSI is MGS IB Partnership school, defined.
So,
If you are looking at year 5 IB,
then
must ask yourself,
\"which year 5 and year 6 IB teaching is better, stronger, at ACSI or at SJI ?
How about their final exit point, year 6 overall students' cohort performance results ? \"
Example
You may check or ask around
At year 6 (ACSI + SJI) -
how many students, inside their cohort, out of maximum 45 points -
1) how many, scored 40 points & above, for IB ?
2) how many, scored 42 points & above, in IB ?
