I checked with my child's school regarding IMSO training invitation. They advised me to wait a bit more since the invitation was sent out in late August last year.


Not sure whether the information is correct since some of the parents here have shared that the IMSO training invitation was already sent out.

Will just continue to wait and see how it goes. 😀

Yes, 3 of my child's schoolmates have already received notification from NUSH regarding the IMSO phase 1 training and selection test for Science, and a few others also received for Maths training. Notifications were sent out on the morning of 10th August.

The least the students will receive is a certificate of participation. There are no failures in such competitions. The relevant certificates and medals will be sent to the participants' schools some time in September (according to the organiser's website).

I believe most of the students have received the SPSO results through their schools.

The IMSO training invitation that I enquired is for students shortlisted to attend the training (and selection test) to be in the Singapore team in IMSO. 😀

By the way, do any parents know how many SPSO gold medals are awarded this year?

My child got a gold award. However, we have not heard any news about IMSO training. Guess he is not shortlisted.

Still very happy for him though. 😀

Hello parents,

DS received an invite from school to choose either science or math olympiad. He is P5 this year.
P4: Science E2k, Math E2k + Math Olympiad
P5: Science E2k, (choose math/sc olympiad)

I dont have any inclination for either one (no plans for DSA but maybe for support) but in case we do, we understand that MO is very competitive as compared to SO.

Any reviews from your children who has gone through SO? Do they enjoy? Any tuition centers for these? What is the level of expectatation for SO? For Math I know they are doing tougher levels but not so sure about Sc.
