Ya not sure if we should drop the risky COP AL 8 and put another safety net of AL 10-11. He has few friends going to RV, so he is comfortable with RV.
I can understand.
Sg citizens has better chance than others in balloting. but order matters so 2nd choice is risky as those with AL8 will get in first. Hence, the safety net is 3rd choice likely to catch him, is he ok with ending up in RV in worse case scenario? -
Received this from dd2 level teacher - can sign up if keen

Hi everyone
Wanted to check if anyone has prior experience of getting a subject revalued. DD was pretty good with Science. Got AL1 in prelims. Did well in the PSLE exam but has got AL3 in it. Is it worth appealing for revaluation. -

I search it up and found this from MOE site. Those from posting group 2, with subject AL score 5 or better, has the option to study the subject at G3 level.
With FSBB, students will no longer be grouped into form classes by their posting groups. And posting groups will not define students school experiences and future pathways. It will be about students’ performance in each subject :
https://www.straitstimes.com/singapore/politics/askst-what-are-posting-groups-and-how-are-they-different-from-academic-streams
I too have the same question as oOskyblueOo.
For this set of results
English - 5
Maths - 6
Mother Tongue - 5
Science - 5
If accepted into PG3, all 4 subjects will be taken at G3 level?
If accepted into PG2, Math has to be taken at G2 level
and the other 3 subjects have to option to be taken at G3 level? So the only difference is on the Math subject between PG3 and PG2?

v hard to say for sure.

due to FSBB, there will be some shifting amongs pure express schools with past cop AL11-12.
If PSLE is relatively not as difficult as that in 2021, there may be more AL8-10 students too.
Will RV cop improve to AL8? The lure of IP for kids with this score range is still enticing. Within and outside this forum. -

What I’ve read so far from the previous posts, chances are very low. But for buying a peace of mind, just go ahead and appeal. But be mentally prepared.

I’ve heard of someone also, had Al1 for prelims and Al 4 for science psle. I’m not sure if it was because the mcq was tricky? I recall after the paper some ks parents came online and discussed about some of the tricky questions.
Sorry, not much of a help here. -
DD surprised us with AL4 and HCL Merit.
With that score she can go for RGS, Nanyang, MGS.
May I have ask which will you choose? I am noob at this. Daughter said RGS environment is very toixc. Nanyang CL is extremely tough. So the next best thing is MGS.
We did attended the open houses. Frankly speaking I was impressed with the physical schools of RGS and Nanyang. -

Congrats! Will you please share more what you like with RGS and Nanyang please? What gives your child the impression that RGS environment is toxic?

MGS's 6 year program will end with IB. Does it matter to you or your child? -

thanks floppy and Zac's mum!
Original CHIJ (now known as CHIJ TP) was founded in 1854 and moved to TP in 1983. Therefore, SNGS definitely wasn't founded after the move. That aside, the various CHIJ were indeed established for various communities / locations in Singapore:
Katong Convent (1930)
St Nicholas Girls’ School (1933)
St Theresa’s Convent (1933)
St Joseph’s Convent (1938)
Bukit Timah Convent (1955; now known as CHIJ Our Lady Queen of Peace)
CHIJ Punggol (1957; now known as CHIJ Our Lady of the Nativity)
Opera Estate Convent (1959; merged with the primary section of Katong Convent to form CHIJ Katong Primary in 1990)
Our Lady of Good Counsel (1960)
Kellock Convent (1964) -

I dunno. I feel the school's layout is more structured for RGS and Nanyang. RGS being a fairly new campus with all the tech stuff (ergonomic classroom furniture).Nanyang's Layout is very organised. It is just my layman's observation. MGS seems to be abit cluttered.
Congrats! Will you please share more what you like with RGS and Nanyang please? What gives your child the impression that RGS environment is toxic?

RGS, probably all the gifted and high flyer students are there. Hence tends to be competitive. I assume that is what they meant by toxic.
IB and IP about the same right? Just that IB is more ang moh, while IP is more locally?
You probably guessed I am really novice at all this secondary school selection.
Any advices or information will be grateful.
