Hi…my daughter got AL 9, and she hopes to apply for Cedar. She is good in her presentation skills - both English and Chinese (her mom is Chinese but she is Singaporean). She is quite well-rounded. Do you think I should contact Cedar’s Principal to highlight my daughter’s talent in the hope that he considers her application favorably? Her second choice is Crescent. Thanks, Tony.

Don't think they will entertain, purely base on point

What's the COP for Cedar? If 1 point fall short, maybe can try?

Cedar ip cut off point is 8, cedar O-lvl is 9, I place cedar ip as my 2nd choice and cedar-O as my 3rd choice..

My dd scored AL8 and we are thinking of applying cedar IP (cop 8). Does anyone know if balloting was conducted on cop 8 last few years?

MOE has since made this announcement publicly, for several past years, so it has become general knowledge to all parents + students, already that :-

PSLE students to appeal for that Secondary school that you are keen in, you can fill up the \"Appeal\" Application form

                      Provided (on condition)

the PSLE student have met the official Cut off point, for that particular school. NO appeal to be entertained, if the student has failed to meet the official Cut off point. Principals in all primary schools in Singapore would also have informed all their 2023 P6 students batch, during the PSLE briefing on how \"posting to Secondary schools, take place\" inside their school hall.

                      Example
                      =======

                      1) in certain past years (batches), Yes, Cedar O level track ever hit AL 9, before.

This year (2023), only on S1 posting release announcement day, will u know the actual COP (for Cedar O level track).

                      So,
if this year COP for Cedar O-level track also happen to be AL 9, for those students who have scored AL 9 but got balloted out due to insufficient remaining vacancies left behind to meet the demand, they can proceed to appeal,
                      provided
vacancies still remain inside the O level track, for appeal to take place.

However, if no vacancy exist, then Sorry, Cedar Girls' Secondary school will Not accept nor entertain any request for Appeal.

                      2) Cedar Girls' IP track Cut off point.

AL system started in 2020, for pioneers born in that year 2008.

For past PSLE years of covid (2020, 2021, 2022), Cedar Girls' Sec school's Cut off point for IP track, was at AL 8 points ? Was there a year whereby the IP track COP was at ... AL 9 points ?

Correct me, If I am wrong.
                      Don't think (recall) so.
Thus, armed with AL 9, Sorry, failed to qualify for IP track (Cedar), unless ...

a miracle happen this year (2023).

MOE already announced publicly in the Straits Times and on MOE website publicly that

All PSLE students must have met the Secondary school's official Cut off point, for that particular, specific curriculum track (either IP / O level), before you can start appealing.

Answer (reply), to your above comment -

If you (PSLE student) fall short of one point for that particular, unique curriculum track, Sorry, No appeal will be entertained.
