      hi

      why not try TCM?

My son had suffered from constipation problems 1 or 2 yrs back. Seen specialists and they recommended surgery to correct the problem. Was a drastic and traumatic option and so prayed for an alternative to appear.

And we tried TCM. Went for a few massages, took medicine and some behavioural changes (to sit on toilet bowl everyday regardless of whether there is urgency). He can poo poo now on his own.

Why not try it. TCM treats the problem rather than just the symptom.

My DS and I are also having sensitive stomach, discomfort, usually needed induced burp to overcome. these discomfort usually occur after injestion of fresh milk, cold drink, soya milk, cheese and bread.

To induce burp (not for infant though), use ointment, or rub your thumbs by lightly in and downwards from a finger space below the sternum to the middle of the stomach, about 2 inches above ambilical cord. (dont use this if you are preganant, or post operations).

I learned that diary based and flour based food are not good for bloodtype type ‘O’. (Me and my DS are)

Try taking the liquid from rice porridege when stomach is empty, use unploished rice is the best, as there are more nutrients in these rice, best is organic brown rice (getting more and more expensive, a popular brand used to be sold at $6.50 per pack 2 years ago, now $9.00).

BTW, vegiterian meat are also flour based, can cause gastric problem…

          HyperKiasu:
perhaps you can try to apply some ointment? i use 吉祥牌如意油 for my ds (7 yrs old) when he complains stomache pain.

          Same same here..

By the way...how to know whether is 胃痛 or normal stomache for kid?

also not very sure about this ... :?

i remember one day when i brought my son to see the doctor when he had fever, and i asked the doctor why my son complained stomacheache, the doctor's reply surprised me: your son might be under stress...

I recall reading an article somewhere about young kids and stomachache. They may not be able to articulate what is hurting and where and just say stomachache or whatever they are familiar with.

My mum taught me to feel his forehead if DS complains of that. If his forehead feels cool/cold, then it is likely his tummy is hurting.

First remedy we go for is the ‘ruyi’ oil. that one is really godsend.

TCM - child massage is also very good to dispel wind/heat. I rather go for that than to subject my child to western medicine in the first instance. Only if it persists then I will turn to western to find the root cause.

My #1 is very prone to this. Brought him to PD and the PD told me that for kids so young, they most likely will not have gastric pain, as in 胃痛. The most probable cause could be stress, bloated tummy with lots of gas due to eating too much or too fast. Told me that as the child grows, their intestine will get bigger and this problem will slowly fade away.

Of course if it persist, then you should still take the child to see a doc to make sure that its not something else, like appendicitis.

Like to find out more cos DD2 (coming to 5 years) seem to be going thru this stomach pain phase, yet we dont really know if its for real. 😐

DD2 has been cranky and kicking up a fuss 😢 abt going school after staying away from school for abt a week due to a bout of illness. And abt the the same period, she keep saying her tummy \" hen xin ku \" ( ie v uncomfortable)

Honestly, i didnt read too much into it n just applied \"ru yi\" oil each time it happens. It has been a month already and we r getting concerned. 😞

DH feels she may be stressed, that why she has this tummy ache thingy.

Anyone any idea how to determine if the kid is stressed n the source of stress? :?:

                    Hi, Poohbear,

I agree with hquek and tree that if the pain persists, better go for a doctor.

i didn't believe a kid may be under stress until i read your post. 😛
ya, my DS eats a lot and eat fast, his stomach might be under stress.
my DH eats less and slower, she almost never complains stomachache.
