Wow... just flagging down a cab costs us almost $5 already... :yikes: .

      Solution?

Just walk loh... I've been walking to Sim Lim Square from Payar Lebar every Saturday. Distance is around 7km. Good exercise. But I think I caught covid when I passed by Little India because there was an incredible amount of people crammed into the tiny street. So always have your mask on especially around places with lots of people even if you are in an open area.
Took taxi fm airport, got in already $9+ I remember reached home fare abt same as with midnight charges that we paid when we went to airport.

Personally, going to johor actually brings us alot of enjoyment. Don’t recall that we used to be such regular before covid. We usually stock up on household, gardening, medication, medical supplies, massage, etc… whenever we are there.

I experienced the excitement in JB before. I like it …just the jam. Hopefully it gets better soon.

We too. Hence must choose the right time to go.

But it's worth it and enable us to self-care (massage and eat) 😄 Quite a number of my younger team members (with kids entering primary school) start to appreciate it alot more when they have more kids so they end up stocking up on diapers as well. Looking at the Singapore prices sometimes make me

hopefully with the RTS, clearing the customs will become a breeze and hence can entice more locals to go there for shopping.

Medical supplies, like most other things not regulated like SG, so cheaper. Other things like milo, chocolates or anything butter related shld avoid as quality of ingredients different. We don’t want to get our blood vessels clogged with palm.

maybe better to buy non-food items like toilet paper, shampoo, detergent etc
If buy food stuff, clearing the custom can be an issue.

Indeed, savings on households and other M’sian origin products can be hefty. I love the Massage there too. But I’m quite selective of food but I fight my battles. S’times no choice just tahan the msg hit. I try not to get any bakery stuff as they don’t taste of butter, but DH & MIL loves Lavendar. I try to bake for them as much as possible to stave their M’sian bakery craves. Not healthy to hv high margarine or other unknown replacements. Afterall, M’sians are similarly suffering fr this worldwide inflation.

For young family, it’s definitely going to help alot for baby stuff or children’s stationery & attires.

I think this will be the game changer. Only, we don’t know how costly the fare will be.

Those on public tpt will faint at CIQ, those driving in will be baked at the causeway jam, as more S’poreans find it cheap to shop & eat across, adding to the Q.
