If child's application in Phase 2C for school of choice is unsuccessful, can parent revert to old schools for registration? Does that mean that the application for parent's old school will be considered under Phase 2C Supp?
Old schools' registration happens in P2A. In order for you to register in another school in P2C, you need to withdraw your registration with the old school. Once you withdraw your registration with the old school in P2C, you are considered to have \"cut off all links\" with the old school.
As such, if your child's application in P2C is unsuccessful, you cannot go back to the old school to register your child, unless the old school still has vacancies. By then, you will be in P2CS, and your child will be treated like any other children who apply to the school in this phase. Your child will not be granted any priority in P2CS based on the \"old school link\" anymore. -

Why not considers to apply under your old school under phase 2A as first choice . Then apply phase 2C under second choice.
What is the distances between your 2 choices of school then?
It is important to considers under distances.

according to a parent, \"for multiples, we will get only 1 ticket. Your children's names will all be in 1 ballot paper. If the ballot gets picked, your triplets will all get in. \" - see Twins comments here - http://www.kiasuparents.com/kiasu/forum/viewtopic.php?t=11513&start=20
I believe soKSP:
From MOE \"From 2010, Singapore Citizens will be given two ballot slips for each child, while Singapore Permanent Residents will continue to get one ballot slip per child.\"
Does this mean there will be four ballot slips for twins and six for triplets?
if there is no change to MOE's policy regarding admitting twins (etc), that means that for SG Citizens, there will still be 2 ballot slips for twins, triplets etc. -
tankee:
I am new here. But I thought I recall reading somewhere that twins are considered as 1 application. If so, should only be 2 ballot slips. You might want to check with MOE.

there is no first choice or second choice application for P1 registration; but if you meant internal choice (ie parents' choice), like what qms mentioned, have to withdraw your name from the sch which you had registered earlier before can register for latter phases. once withdraw from earlier phases, that early phase registration privilege is gone and will not be reinstated even if one failed in Phase 2C balloting. -
Yeah, it is only fair to others if one didn’t consider registering in phase 1…well understood that. The school of choice is less than 1km but it ia the most popular one in the entire estate. Not sure the chance in phase 2c ballot. Have to monitor closely…

Thank you for your guidance. I dont have a younger child. My elder son was from SJI Jnr and now in SJI. I am not particular about a religion based school although that will be preferred. Guess the choice will really depend on what vacancies are available at end of P2B! Sigh, my old school have been merged and merged and disappeared as far as MOE records are concerned!
I would think along these lines first. CHIJ TP is a Catholic school, St Margaret's is Anglican and Hong Wen is secular. Is a religion based school important to you and your family?
Secondly, do you have a boy or a girl after this girl? If the sibling is another girl, then either CHIJ TP or SMP are both good choices, but I think your answer to Q1 would have to be answered first before you make a decision.
However, if the sibling is a boy, then perhaps HW might be a better idea since it would save you some headache when the time comes for registration of P1.
Lastly, HW is a SAP school. Are you okay with that? -

Hi Kaye
You are most welcome, though I did not help much!
In this case, looks like you do not have much of a choice except to depend on the number of vacancies available for Phase 2C.
Just to share, a friend's daughter could not get a place into Hong Wen at Phase 2C last year despite staying between 1- 2 km of the school. You might want to take that into consideration. -
Hi kidznme,
Priority to apply under Phase 1 as well as 2A applies ONLY during this period. Once you have by-passed these 2 phases, you cannot go back to the school to ask for priority if yr child fails to get a place under Phase 2C. This is such that it’s fair for all kids.
Like what sc88 mentioned, consider the distance between home and school for your school of choice. To enjoy the link with your former school, register at Phase 2A so as not to regret it later. -
Sorry, what I meant is parent own choice.(1st or 2nd choice). Since it is the first choice and is under Phase 2A1or 2A2 sure go in or says chances are high , why not ? Why want to withdraw your first choice and go for Phase 2C balloting? :?
kidznme ,
If possible can u quote us which 2 school u are mentioning + the distances as well? I think it can gives us better advise for u then.
