Hua Yi Secondary School

To parents thinking of sending their child to HYSS and to parents with children in HYSS,
HYSS is a good school but it definitely isn’t the best in the area, the school has a very limited budget and also a lack of teachers. Due to that when choosing subject combinations in secondary 3, students are given a very limited range of selection. Not only that, but students are only allowed to choose 7 subjects, unlike other schools that allow 8.
As for CCAs, they also receive a limited budget. For those with athletic children who want to join sport CCAs I’m sorry to say but non of HYSS’s sport’s CCA are any good.
Finally, the students in the school are mostly well behaved, however in the school there are many reports of sexual acts and bullying.
In conclusion, HYSS is not the best school though many say so. -

No, not true. My manager who is in charge of a large project in China now - was graduated from Hua Yi Secondary School. He entered Hua Yi SS as N level because his PSLE results were under expectation but he managed to continue his study in Singapore Polytechnic and NTU. Our company is a Government Owned Company in Singapore.

I think it's quite irresponsible to make such remarks.

For example, they reached the last two ‘C’ Division (Girls) National Volleyball Championship Finals.
One of their teachers, Mr. Khoo Wei Lun Edwin was one of the 6 https://academyofsingaporeteachers.moe.edu.sg/professional-recognition/outstanding-youth-in-education-award/oyea-recipients-and-finalists too (one of his sharing on Schoolbag There%20is%20beauty%20in%20the%20struggle).
