ok so that means I have to wait till they are P2 before I can enrol them ? Will they be learning what they do in school ?

if they are interested in reading, you can get murderous maths series for them to read.

Unless kid is very gifted, this Murderous Maths series is definitely too \"chim\" for P2 kids. Don't scare them with that :!:
hehe, that is why the title of the book is \"murderous\" 😉

        Hi

SAP Publications have published the Olympiad Maths Trainer Books; 1,2 and 3 now and 4, 5 and 6 later.

Book 1 says ages 7-8, does that make it a P1 or P2 book? Can anyone clarify.

I ask this as DS1, here in UK, is in Year 2, which is same as your P1. In UK, Year 2 is ages 6 to 7. School finishes in two weeks, when DS1 will also be 7.

In September he starts Year 3 (ages 7 to 8 ), the equivalent of your P2, I think.

Quick answer would be much appreciated. 😄

when the book says for age 7-8, the author is estimating that smart 7 yrs old will be able to grasp his materials as well as the average 8 yrs old. Because the materials presented in the book are meant to be enrichment materials and therefore not really tied to school syllabus (\"out-of-syllabus) so please do not worry about the school year. You can let your son browse through the books and see whether he will want to attempt, it's ok to try a book stated for younger age as long as your son feels he can learn a lot from the books.

If you can do ALL the smo questions (Just the Junior Level) all by yourself, you are good to go for the DSA exam.

The International Mathematical Olympiad (IMO) is the most prestigious and grandiose annual Maths competition among high school students (up to JC2). It is also the oldest one among the international scientific Olympiads – the first IMO was held in Romania in 1959, this year it is held at Kazakhstan. All the scientific olympiads (IMO, International Physics Olympiad IPhO, International Chemistry Olympiad IChO and International Biology Olympiad IBO) are held in July each year. IPhO, IChO and IBO will be held at the later part of July but typically all results will be announced by MOE by the end of July. Winners of these International olympiads are sought after by top universities all over the world.

Team Singapore and their ages (from 14 years old to 18 years old; Lim Jeck from NUS High is the youngest, he also participated in last year's IMO held in Germany when he was 13):
