it is the mad scrambling by parents to want to send the kids to the very popular schools that cause the supply - demand disconnect though the supply - demand is always \"more than balanced\"
Like what I said before, lower birth rate or not, popular schools remain popular. Their demand will not fall just because there are less babies.
And in this forum of kiasu parents, the talks centred on these popular schools. So their demand and their lack of places to satisfy the KSPs demanding them, gets highlighted most often. -
For experience parents out there, please advise if during balloting, those names selected will be written on a board or somewhere? I am def watching the process but will be late. I dun wanna missed having my girl's name called and then worrying when I didnt heard it being called....

For balloting, the names & ID will be verified over OHP before being folded and put into the ballot bowl. The school will show 2 ballot slips for SC and one slip for PR. When all names are checked, balloting starts.
Names balloted in will be read, flashed on OHP and then pin on a white board. The process may vary a little for each school.
Good Luck to those balloting next Friday. Do bring someone along to share your joy

Hi,
Balloting can be very stressful for some parents. Diff sch do thier balloting differently. Last yr, I went for my gal’s balloting at St Margt. All the appliciants’ name were written in a piece of paper, the school read out each and evevryone’s name and there were relflected on OHP. The names were then transferred into a transparent "fish tank". Principal will draw the 1st name, whoever gotten drawn had to go up stage to help to draw the next applicant.
If the lucky gal’s parent was not in the hall to view the balloting, that parent on stage has to continue to draw for another applicant. You can go only go down the stage till you draw 1 gal who parent was in the hall.
Haha…I was alone last yr and was so stress when you see all happy parents sitting beside you left n right, behind u, in front u all cheering for thier sucess i balloting. At last when they flashed my gal’s name(last 10 lucky gals) on OHP, I was stunned for awhile and couldn’t believe my eyes and ears.
Goodluck to all of them who are going for your balloting. Begin to think which sch to go should your child didn’t get into your dream school.Prepare for it and take it easy.
