Is remedial class conducted before or during school hours? Any idea what is the teacher-student ratio for the class?

Hi starrenee, my son also enjoyed his yrs in tns. Quite a lot of tns kids attend Chinese enrichment at Molin. Mine did too.

Between Berries and Molin, which would you recommend for primary school level? šŸ˜„

My child is going to P1 next year. I have a few questions, and hope that someone can help with these

      1. After the orientation in end Oct, are there any other (optional) classes that we would need to sign up for? I’m planning Dec holidays but heard from parents in other schools that there were holiday program for pre-P1 - imagine my horror!

      2. Since TNS is a SAP school, do all the kids get to do higher Chinese starting from P1 onwards? They need not get superb results to do higher Chinese, and will not be "dropped out" even if P1 Chinese results are average?

      3. Is there a recommended booklist that we can have access to?

Would you be able to recommend books for the K2 boy too? He is going to a school with higher Chinese so I need to \"start work\" šŸ™‚

Popular schools will remain popular...then PRs arrive and ask around about schools, they will join the queue too. In order to have better chance, either one will then convert to SC for that 2 ballot slip.

I was of the impression that it must be the dad and the child to be SC before they qualify for 2 ballot slips. So, mum and child combination is also ok? interesting

      sesame:
For experience parents out there, please advise if during balloting, those names selected will be written on a board or somewhere? I am def watching the process but will be late. I dun wanna missed having my girl's name called and then worrying when I didnt heard it being called.... šŸ˜›

For balloting, the names & ID will be verified over OHP before being folded and put into the ballot bowl. The school will show 2 ballot slips for SC and one slip for PR. When all names are checked, balloting starts.

Names balloted in will be read, flashed on OHP and then pin on a white board. The process may vary a little for each school.

Good Luck to those balloting next Friday. Do bring someone along to share your joy šŸ˜‰

      alvinaT:

Problem lies in where those balloted out can go to near Marine Parade. Ngee Ann and CHIJ Katong are both balloting, that leaves 33+10+9=52 balloted out trying for only 17 places in TKP?

If we fail again in 2CS ballot, last resort will be either Eunos Primary or other schools in Bedok.

For parents who fail in 2CS, do they wait for phase 3 to register, or go directly to another school while still in 2CS phase?

Oh, I got the figures wrong. birth rate is 37174. that is about the same as the no. applied.

So, all the \"high\" demand is not due to any new SC or PRs. It is due to higher demand by more educated (and informed) parents.
