How often does your children get sick in Childcare?

Lets limit the poll to those 2 -> 6 yrs of age staying in registered childcare and not nannies. Wanted to get the feel if all parents have the same issue that faced. Which happen to include monthly visit to Childcare...:)

actually, my almost 3 yr old is now o about 1.-2months interval in between "downtime" /visit to doc

my child started going to childcare at the age of 20 months.

at first, she fell sick only about once every 2-3 weeks.
each time she fell sick, she had to stay at home for at least 3-4 days.
then she started falling sick more frequently, about once every 1-2 weeks.
she even kenna the HFMD this year in Mar/Apr.
in Jun, she kept falling sick, and only attended school for 2-3 days out of the whole month.

i felt frustrated and sick of bringing her to the PD each time she falls sick. the medicine is always the same (for flu-like symptoms, cough etc.) and it doesn’t seem to help.
i’m trying out chinese medicine now and it seems to have improved her health.
she has not been sick for the whole of Jul and seems to have broken the chain of falling sick once every few weeks.

I’m working mum, has 1 boy (K2) & girl (nursery) currently full day study at child care since their age 2.5 years. If them sick i need to take leave to take good care of them.

Luckily before enrol them, i got good advise from centre teacher. She advise me every weekend provide them to drink barley, lo han goa because kid easy get sick if thier body is heaty. Moreover some center did provide them cake or fried noodle etc.

Hope these advice is useful.

I can imagine the trouble. We use to send our 3 yr old to nearby childcare and and i believe it or not, he gets sick every 3 weeks. Imagine parents have 2-3 kids, children takes turn to get sick. That means, parents like ourselves have take off days every 2-3 weeks.
